📘 New report: Strengthening political party regulation and inclusion in Sierra Leone 🇸🇱 How can political party systems better support inclusive and accountable democracy? A new report under the #WYDE project explores the regulatory framework in Sierra Leone, with a focus on inclusion, governance and institutional capacity. The report highlights: 🔹 The role of the Political Parties Regulation Commission in overseeing party activities 🔹 Progress in promoting inclusion, including quota-based approaches for women’s participation 🔹 Ongoing challenges in implementation, from enforcement gaps to resource constraints While important legal steps have been taken, the analysis shows that rules alone are not enough. 📢 New paper: Are EU agri-food policies Paris-compatible? This ECDPM 🌍 study by Hanne Louise Knaepen examines the alignment of EU agri-food policies with the Paris Agreement, including the 1.5°C objective. It analyses trends over time and highlights areas where further efforts could support stronger coherence between agricultural and climate objectives, within the EU and in its external action.
