Why are foundation models like Claude and OpenAI suddenly dominating application security, but failing at SecOps? David Greene and Alankrit Chona break down the structural reasons behind this shift. It’s not an accident. AI is having a massive moment in AppSec right now because: 1️⃣ Code-centric design: AppSec and AppDev look very similar, and LLMs are built on massive codebases with deep semantic understanding. 2️⃣ Contextual scale: AI can interpret millions of lines of code without getting tired, catching vulnerabilities across multiple dependencies that human reviewers miss. 3️⃣ CI/CD Integration: Every single commit gets reviewed instantly, bridging the gap between discovery and remediation. LLMs are completely revamping vulnerability management. But as Alanrit points out: AppSec is not SecOps. Watch the full clip to see why AI excels at one and struggles with the other. 🔗 Link to watch the full webinar in the comments!

  • AI is a national security imperative. Ambuj Kumar is heading to the US Capitol to speak at the 2026 National Cyber Innovation Forum. He will be sharing insights into how the world's biggest SOC teams are using AI in their daily workflows and the importance of AI-native defense against AI-armed attackers. 🗓️ Date: MAY 21, 2026 | 9 AM – 6 PM 📍 Location: U.S. Capitol Building, Visitor Center Auditorium, CVC-200. | WASHINGTON, DC Register for the event 👉 https://lnkd.in/gERSsnAE

  • While raw LLMs like Claude and OpenAI are absolutely crushing it in AppSec (scanning code, finding bugs, and suggesting patches), deploying them without harness into your SecOps environment is a massive risk. When you combine the reasoning power of an LLM with a dedicated security harness? You jump to 95%+ accuracy in production. AI is the future of your security stack, but you have to give it the right context to actually defend your environment. Watch the full breakdown on how to properly harness LLMs for both AppSec and SecOps. 🔗 Link to the full webinar in the comments!

  • We pitted 11 frontier LLMs against real attacks. Final score: 0–11. Meanwhile, your SOC is drowning in 982 daily alerts (40% unread), AI-phishing hits 20% engagement, and attackers move laterally in 48 minutes. Hot take from our April drop: AppSec ≠ SecOps. Code scanning isn't threat hunting. And SIEMs that monetize telemetry volume aren't your savior—they're your problem. Plus: a 3-phase Success Kit. From "paste log into Claude" to a production hunt agent. No paywall. No black box. Read it.

  • Eleven frontier LLMs. 884 runs. Zero passed. Today, Simbian Research released the world's first Cyber Defense Benchmark — the first benchmark to test whether large language models can autonomously hunt attackers in real telemetry, not just answer questions about MITRE ATT&CK techniques. On April 29, we are going deep on the full results in a live session: "Claude and OpenAI Will Change Security — Just Not the Way You Think." Registration link in the comments. Every frontier model from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Alibaba, Minimax, DeepSeek, and Moonshot AI was tested against real Windows attack telemetry across 105 attack procedures. The best — Claude Opus 4.6 — averaged 46% per MITRE tactic. Every other model collapsed. The data points to a structural truth: frontier AI is excellent at offense, and underpowered at defense. Closing that gap is not a parameter problem. It is an engineering problem — context, retrieval, agentic scaffolding, and cost discipline. We call it the harness. It is what gets us to 95% accuracy in production. Full benchmark, methodology, and leaderboard linked in the comments.

  • Scaling a Security Operations Center (SOC) is no small feat, but the right AI integration changes the game entirely. We are thrilled to share that Security Today has just published "Real Lessons from Scaling SOC Operations With AI," an insightful new essay by NTT DATA, Inc. cybersecurity leaders Sheetal Mehta and Karthikeyan Veerappan In the piece, they break down 12 practical strategies for modernizing security workflows and reveal how they reduced incident effort by up to 70%. We are incredibly proud that NTT Data is using Simbian's autonomous AI agents to achieve these massive efficiency gains and scale their SOC operations. Read the article 👉 https://lnkd.in/et6BbVzs

  • Cybersecurity stocks tanked the minute Anthropic and OpenAI launched their new security agents. Half the industry is now convinced the traditional security stack is officially dead. The other half is in denial. Both are missing the actual point. An AI model that can spot a vulnerability in your codebase does absolutely nothing to stop an active, AI-powered intrusion in your production environment. It doesn’t triage 10,000 alerts. It doesn’t hunt live threats. It doesn't run your SOC. The gap between AppSec (securing what you build) and SecOps (defending what you run) is wide open and foundation models aren't closing it anytime soon. On April 29th, we are tearing down the market hype. We are breaking down exactly which security tools Claude and OpenAI currently replace, and what a fully autonomous SecOps platform needs to look like to defend against AI-driven attackers.
