Happy Friday! What did you get done this week? Our R&D team spent the week working 24/7 to produce sustainable phosphoric acid at our in-house pilot! Our proprietary phosphate process is designed to work with our core acid recycling process, delivering the same critical products with way less chemical waste. Few key facts about this effort: 🪨 We ran using conventional ore concentrate from a major phosphate producer partner. 🏭 Our proprietary process can scale rapidly and is low cost because it performs beautifully using conventional equipment (standard vessels, filter cloth, etc.). 🧪 Only a handful of labs have the capability to pilot phosphoric acid digestion under representative process conditions - we are one of them. 🌱 Phosphate production is hard, but we've proven we can make it more sustainable. #CriticalMinerals #StrategicMinerals #NetZero #Its5amSomewhere

Demo plant still going through this storm. Thanks team for keeping it running!!
While much of the country digs out from this storm, our Demo Plant continued 24/7 operations despite over 2 ft of snow and single digit temps outside of Rochester, NY. Major kudos to our Demo Plant Operations Team for keeping it running!

Travertine has reached our fourth anniversary of incorporation. The amount this incredible team has accomplished in this short time is staggering: Technical Wins ⚡ - Developed a proprietary process for phosphoric acid production that is cheaper and produces far less chemical waste than conventional, while also delivering massive cement decarbonization potential. - Developed the definitively most cost-effective electrochemical salt splitting system for industrial acid/base production (for phosphates and beyond). - Deployed a Demo plant 100x larger than our laboratory pilot that was producing on-spec products within 2 months of installation (at installed cost within 1% of initial budget). - Built up a highly productive and efficient team that also takes the time to have fun (our potato potluck and the infamous kickball match were some major highlights). Commercial Wins 🏭 - Initiated commercial project development with several major global phosphate producers and a new phosphate mine (Arianne Phosphate Inc TSX.V: DAN) - Developed tight partnerships with major global cement companies Holcim and Amrize to deliver highly credible and permanent carbon abatement or removal. What we haven't done at Travertine 🔥 - Obfuscate our technology - Sell things we are not 100% confident we will deliver - Make things in ways that compromise our environmental and social values Up next for is 2026... - Closing our official Series A fundraise - Delivery of our next-gen electrolyzer prototype - Outreach to hyperscalers to market Environmental Attribute Credits (looking at you Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and Meta Facebook ) - Deepening our partnerships with major phosphate industry players, and - Advancement of our first commercial project to Final Investment Decision. Sound exciting? Reach out if you want to play a part in the next 4 years.

It was great to have Travertine be a case study at Université de Fribourg - Universität Freiburg business school class run by Jan Jenisch and Amrize. Partnerships between universities, start-ups, and established industries is how innovation is scaled!
Innovation is essential to moving the building and construction industry forward. Across North America, many of our customers are developing highly complex manufacturing facilities, data centers, and critical infrastructure — projects that demand the most advanced, high-performance building materials. That’s why I strongly believe in collaboration with innovators like Travertine , who are finding new ways to turn industrial waste into low-carbon resources with real potential to scale. This week, it was a pleasure to bring students from the Université de Fribourg - Universität Freiburg together with colleagues from Amrize, Travertine's Laura Lammers and Valentin Gutknecht from neustark to discuss how established industry leaders and startups can work side by side to commercialize innovation and bring it into real-world application. These exchanges are how we move the industry forward — setting new standards for what modern construction can be.

Canada currently imports 100% of its phosphate requirements — a critical mineral for food production as well as a key ingredient in LFP batteries. They have the phosphate resources, but wanted a next generation technology that allows sustainable development without mountains of waste. Enter Travertine an award-winning startup scaling a process for carbon-negative, minimal-waste critical element production. Yesterday, we announced an agreement with Arianne Phosphate Inc TSX.V: DAN for development of Project Greystone. Arianne's Lac à Paul is the only greenfield North American project that is permitted. Together, Travertine and Arianne will advance Project Greystone to sustainable purified phosphoric acid production, a first step to Canadian phosphate security. Phosphate named Critical Mineral in the US!! Yesterday, the U.S. Department of the Interior finally added phosphate and potash to the US critical minerals list - recognizing that these minerals are responsible for roughly half of all crop yields — and thus essential to U.S. food and national security. With the US phosphate industry in decline, leading to increasing imports and higher costs for farmers, the new critical mineral designation will help revitalize domestic phosphates production through next generation technology that doesn't create mountains of waste. Travertine is excited to help enable sustainable production of the most vital, irreplaceable, and now officially critical element on the periodic table: Phosphorus. https://lnkd.in/gdqFpMh5 #CriticalMinerals #TheFertilizerInstitute

Thank you Builders Vision for your support!
Big news from our partners at Travertine: as of last week, their new demonstration plant in Upstate New York is officially up and running! Travertine’s technology targets some of the most emissions-intensive industrial processes, like sulfuric acid and cement. This plant is a major step toward scaling their technology and transforming critical industries in a way that reduces emissions and drives long-term economic value. We’re proud to have supported this project alongside the NYSERDA, and it was great to have our colleague Andrew Yi on site for the ribbon cutting to represent Builders Vision and celebrate with the Travertine team. Huge congratulations to Laura Lammers, Owen Cadwalader and everyone at Travertine on this important milestone! Learn more about the new facility here: https://lnkd.in/gYvAPJm6
