Industrial Espionage Is Real! That's essentially what can happen when providing sandbox access without robust protections in place. Recently, we experienced firsthand that sting. A large agency that we shared our sandbox environment with, went ahead and shared their login with our competitor, who swiftly copied our awesome functionality. Yes...imitation is the sincerest form of flattery....but not in this case. Our legal team are amazing and we already had protections in place giving us some recourse. Clearly outlined confidentiality terms aren’t just a formality, they’re essential business protection. Always make sure your terms explicitly prevent users from sharing access with competitors. With the recent announcement of Google's Nano Banana and continued improvements to their Gemini AI video editor powered by Veo3, I decided to run a test: I uploaded an image from GRO's recent lifestyle photoshoot for a student housing client in Tempe. I then prompted Gemini: "Take the girl in this photo and have her talking with friends (no audio) and they are laughing and carrying on." The thumbnail of this video is the actual photo I uploaded. The video is the result of the prompt. WILD. There's so much to unpack here, but thought I should share this with the community. Still several kinks to work out (some of the results still came out "glitchy"), but the technology is improving every day. Eager to see how AI video generation will be leveraged by marketers in the housing verticals in the near future.

What's the ROI on creator-centric brand storytelling? Honestly? Depends on what you're measuring. We just wrapped another LIFER STORIES video series with professional skateboarder Darren Navarrette and S1 Helmets. Two days at City Heights Skatepark in San Diego. No script for enders. No pressure for NBDs. Just Darren skating, talking about his 30+ years in pads, and why he calls them "battle gear." The approach is stupidly simple: let the session unfold, ask real questions, don't preach about helmets, and maintain cinematic look and feel. The numbers: 34K organic views aren't breaking the internet. But here's what's actually happening—Positive WOM (word of mouth) Sales reps are opening meetings with these stories instead of spec sheets. Retail staff quote Darren weeks later. The content sticks because it doesn't feel like advertising. Retailers tell us it strengthens their trust in the brand — they see S1 actually supporting riders, not just using them for clips. Team riders have something to unify around that doesn't demand they sacrifice their bodies for a viral moment. And people are rewatching. Multiple times throughout the month. The part that's tricky: What's the value when your sales conversations lead with story instead of specs? When retail partners feel genuine brand alignment? When your team actually wants to rally around the content? In lifestyle brand spaces, the metrics that matter most don't always translate to traditional ROI. They show up in relationships, recall, and how people talk about you when you're not in the room. We're not chasing views with this series. We're building something that speaks authentically, addresses tough questions other companies won't touch, and it never gets product preachy. Big issue with AI is no copyright or licensing control. BUT AI can greatly extend a produced shoot. Clips here, my buddy Scott Davis of Planet PrePro partnered with me to show how we can extend retouched selects to motion without the need of second team coverage - all under license and cleared. A few weeks ago, Alena and I ran a quick motion-control experiment. What still stands out to me is how close we’re getting to repeatable, camera-accurate AI performance. Same movement. Same framing. Different source. This piece was created using Kling 2.6 Motion Control, after a lot of testing across tools like Runway Act-Two, Wan 2.2 Animate, and Luma Dream Machine. We’re getting closer to something very real here.
