I spent countless days and nights immersed in these pages, building the knowledge required to become a network security specialist. Along the way, I set goals that felt more like distant dreams than realistic targets. But over time, those dreams turned into results: Become a Cisco NetAcademy instructor. Check! Pass CCIE exam. Check! Join Cisco. Check! Speak at Cisco Live. Check! Become a Cisco Press author... That last one? It felt like the impossible dream. But today, I am proud to say: I am officially a Cisco Press author. Joining this select group of brilliant professionals who share a passion for knowledge is a true honor. I am also incredibly proud to be the third person from Brazil to publish a book with Cisco Press. This journey was not a solo effort. I am deeply thankful for the unwavering support of my leaders, mentors, friends, and family. A special thank you to my co-authors, Raghunath Kulkarni, Patrick Lloyd and Kaarthik Sivakumar who accepted the challenge and spent 18 months of hard work crafting what I can humbly call: a great book! I am also grateful to our editor, James Manly, for his invaluable guidance throughout this process. It is time to celebrate.
