If implemented well, this could improve backend transaction efficiency for digital items, particularly in live-service environments. However, the broader industry lesson still applies: players engage for gameplay, not financial mechanics. Crypto gaming hasn’t succeeded at scale yet. Telcoin Association Council Updates | Three Weeks of Progress Over the past three weeks, three councils within the Telcoin Association met to advance critical work as mainnet launch approaches. Each focused on distinct priorities, but all working toward the same goal: finalize infrastructure, activate community incentives, and prepare for validator onboarding. 2. TELx Council | Exploring Merkle and Balancer V3 Alternatives TELx continues evaluating alternatives that could reduce concentrated liquidity complexity for providers. The council is pursuing multiple parallel investigations. Merkle integration discussions are progressing. The platform offers granular control over reward parameters and operates on approximately 1% of incentives distributed. For TELx’s 200 million TEL annual budget, this represents roughly 2 million TEL in service fees. The council views this as worthwhile to eliminate manual maintenance overhead and ensure consistent distribution without gaps. The key challenge is evaluating whether Merkle can support position-level subscription tracking required for TELx governance. This work continues with support from Leo, Andrew, and Eric. Balancer V3 Reclaim Pools emerged as a compelling option. These pools combine concentrated liquidity benefits with automated maintenance that eliminates time-intensive position management. Unlike traditional concentrated liquidity where individual wallets manage ranges, Reclaim Pools adjust the price range collectively and automatically rebalance as assets trade. This “set it and forget it” approach directly addresses community feedback about V4 complexity. Early data shows existing pools on Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Avalanche, and Base averaging higher single-digit returns on fees alone, with aggressive pools reaching 20-30% APR before incentives. The challenge is that Balancer V3 hasn’t been deployed on Polygon yet, though documentation indicates compatibility exists. Uniswap V4 pool performance showed measurable improvement in recent weeks. Data revealed better balance between liquidity percentage and rewards percentage, with positions holding 40% of pool liquidity earning close to 40% of rewards. However, V4’s complexity remains better suited for volatile pairs like TEL/ETH than stable pairs. A decision on V4’s long-term direction is targeted for early February. USDC/eUSD pairs on Polygon and Ethereum have shown up following the soft launch of Telcoin Digital Asset Bank. The council will be working with Telcoin Holdings to determine if these holdings-initiated pools fall under TELx governance, whether they should receive incentives, and whether hooks are required for voting rights. Discussions with Paul Neuner will establish appropriate governance structure as digital dollar infrastructure scales.
