Compile to .wasm. Drop it in. Call it from PHP, one class, one method. No Zend  API, no FFI, no shelling out. Fully sandboxed, and stateful, runs on any platform without recompiling. 20 plugins in the repo. A Rust HTML sanitiser: 12 lines, 1.2 MB, 0.8 ms. A full SCSS compiler: 2.7 MB. React JSX server-side rendering from PHP: 7 MB, 5ms. Same API for all of them. 💻 Clients are the ultimate software testers! 😂 I'll never forget this incident from 2014—we built a web app for a Canadian client, complete with an integrated blog. Now, theory and tutorials teach us plenty, but nothing prepares you for real-world implications like practical experience. So, the client calls up saying, "Photos on the blog are loading too slowly." Initially, it seemed odd because other parts of the app were smooth, and images elsewhere loaded just fine. After some debugging, the problem became hilariously clear: they were uploading pictures straight from their camera—6000px by 4000px, 90-95 MB each! 🙈 We hadn't set basic validations like pixel dimensions or file sizes, assuming type checks alone would suffice. Lesson learned—the client broke our app within just two hours of delivery. This taught me the critical importance of thorough validations—not only do they secure your app, but they also keep performance swift and reliable. Ever had a similar experience?
