After nearly three amazing years at
Turo, today marks my last day as I move on to the next chapter with a full heart and a deep sense of gratitude.
I’m excited to share that I’ve accepted an incredible new opportunity—one that brings together my passion for building high-impact teams, solving complex problems, and leading with purpose.
I’m proud of having grown Turo’s API Services team from a small group into a powerhouse of 9 exceptional engineers, tackling some of the company’s most complex technical challenges. Together, we:
• Drove Mono Decomposition, defining microservice standards and strengthening partnerships with DevOps, SRE, and Platform teams
• Led the first extraction effort to create the Conversation Service, setting the tone for the broader decomposition effort
• Retired Quartz jobs, eliminating execution delays and improving reliability
• Made Temporal a first-class citizen, now powering systems throughout Turo
• Extracted the Notification Service, offloading 1B+ requests annually
• Upgraded app authentication by implementing JWT for better scalability and security
• Took ownership of core legacy modernization efforts, ensuring long-term system health and scalability
• Accelerated development on the co-hosting initiative, helping teams move faster with cleaner service boundaries and shared infrastructure
• Built out documentation and tooling to support full self-serviceability
• Represented Turo Engineering at industry events
• Mentored and supported 4 engineers on their path to promotion, helping shape the next generation of leadership
• And celebrated a culture of excellence—nearly every team member received an Above & Beyond Award from their peers
Along the way, I learned that you build a high-caliber team not just by focusing on projects—but by investing in your people first. When you trust great engineers with meaningful work and support their growth, you create a force multiplier that drives both innovation and resilience.
This experience has been more than a job—it’s been a chapter of meaningful growth, team-building, and hard-earned impact. I’m incredibly grateful to the engineers, cross-functional partners, and leaders who made this journey so memorable.
If we’ve worked together during my time at Turo—thank you. I’ve learned from every collaboration.
I’ll post soon to share more about what’s next. 👍
