    I was elected to serve on behalf of the students to advocate for various issues including fighting for lower tuition, increasing accessibility on campus, better communication and transparent governance, lobbying for better transit options and being the Chief Governance Officer on the Board via the role of Board chair which I vowed to ensure that student participation would be central to my role.

    Roles and Projects Roles being worked on:
    - Advocating for a Tuition Freeze across the lower mainland and for an increase in funding to post secondary education
    - Fighting for the university to increase the consultation with students on the Budget Priorities prior to approving new tuition
    - Advocating with University and External partners to lobby for a Gondola and other transit options on Campus for which we have successfully had support from the City of Burnaby (getting us closer to new steps)
    - Ensuring the $65 million dollar project, the Student Union Building is effectively managed and opened before my term ends, while ensuring various suites are available for marginalized students and social justice communities on campus
    - Providing a pilot project for Free Menstrual Products on Campus
    - Working with the University to implement a Single Use Plastics Mitigation plan and sustainability efforts
    - Planning the Strategic priorities and the Board Year plan for the Simon Fraser Student Society Board of Directors
    - Providing oversight of the Executive Director and 26 staff and the Internal affairs of the Student Society
    - Negotiated the province-wide transit program amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and provided support and financial aid to hundreds of students on campus
    - Advocating for marginalized student groups at risk of eviction and won space for groups such as SOCA, DNA, FNSA, SFPIRG, Embark

    SAP Intern Community

    Developed SmartStrument, an IoT application aimed at teaching young musicians how to play piano by scraping musical notes and using the Arduino to display what keys are to be played on the Smart Instrument. This would then require playback from the musician and the sensor accepts strokes as input and accuracy tracked and improved.
