Making vehicles more affordable for consumers will require creative solutions. Customers returning to the market after a three-year lease are finding payments that are hundreds of dollars more expensive than their last one, said Andy Guelcher, chairman of the Chevrolet National Dealer Council. Jumping $300 or $400 on a monthly payment, he said, isn’t sustainable. “We have to be creative,” said Guelcher, dealer principal of Mohawk Chevrolet in Ballston Spa, N.Y. “We have to use the resources that are available to us to make it as consumer-friendly as possible and to make it as affordable as possible.” That could mean lower prices or higher incentives — or both, he said. If challenges around affordability aren’t addressed, he added, it could lead to lower sales. The Chevrolet Trax subcompact crossover remains popular, and Guelcher said he is looking forward to the return of the electric Chevy Bolt as a 2027 model — even in a slowing U.S. market for EVs. The smoke rising over Detroit this February isn't coming from a new assembly line; it’s the smell of a $53 billion "bonfire" fueled by scrapped plans and broken promises. In a collective move that has sent shockwaves through the global automotive industry, the "Big Three"—Stellantis, Ford, and General Motors—have now officially written off more than $53 billion in electric vehicle (EV) investments. Leading the retreat is Stellantis, which recently shocked the market with a staggering $26 billion charge, admitting it vastly "overestimated the pace of the energy transition." Ford has followed with a cumulative **$19.5 billion write-off**, while GM has taken a $7.6 billion hit. This pivot back to hybrids and internal combustion engines (ICE) is being framed as a "prudent realignment" with American consumer demand. CTV influenced 86% of sales while remaining the biggest and most influential screen in the household. The inherent measurability of CTV is such a massive benefit to the platform, especially when you can prove ROAS on actual vehicle sales!

Cultural relevance isn’t something you add on to a plan. It’s something you build from the start with intention, empathy, and a deep understanding of the communities you’re trying to serve. It’s not about chasing trends. It’s about recognizing signals, respecting context, and showing up in ways that are meaningful while still driving business outcomes. Reach gets you seen. Cultural relevance gets you chosen.
