There are very real operational (and National Security) risks to all involved in the handling of CUI. As a level 2 certified MSP, I can say experientially that this is not something to be taken casually. It is not part of the usual MSP playbook. CMMC is not something that as an MSP you " just do" along with everything else. It takes whole organization alignment and change to be able to satisfy the safe handling requirements of this National Security data. Different tooling, different skillsets, robust procedures, and more, all must align. The risks to DoD contractors is real. Time is not on your side. Having a MSP that is not L2 certified or does not understand intricately how CMMC and flowdown work, costs you time. That time will quickly translate into lost contracts while simultaneously increasing, everyone's operational risk.
