When designers are trusted with systems, growth compounds. 💚 Jan marked a few meaningful milestones in my career as a product designer and builder. None of them are flashy on their own, but together they represent a shift I’ve been working toward for a long time. #1: For the first time, I can run the entire app locally (like docker & stuff 🫠) This was a big personal moment. It required: - the motivation to push beyond my comfort zone - support from a meticulous engineer who cared deeply about collaboration - most importantly, a culture that encourages access rather than gatekeeping After this, other designers, and even CS team members, were able to run the app locally as well. That kind of ripple effect only happens in the right environment. (We are a 50-person team.) #2: I designed, coded, shipped, and merged internal tools to production. Historically, internal tools slow teams down because they depend on engineering bandwidth. Being able to move from problem → design → code → PR → merge for internal workflows is a huge unlock. It accelerates execution, improves how we dogfood UX, and ultimately shapes better customer experiences. This was made possible by: - openness and trust from the engineering team - a thoughtful, fast code review process - shared ownership over quality and outcomes #3: Genuinely feeling empowered in an AI-native, well-run team. A few things I deeply value: - No traditional PM role: everyone contributes product thinking - Radical transparency: No DMs, public communication, assumed good intent - A meticulous culture: from docs to feedback to rollouts, so much care - AI as the default: across sales, success, design, and engineering - A hands-on CEO who truly enjoys product, design, and AI Being in a team where builders are trusted, curiosity is rewarded, and leadership models joy in the work has been incredibly motivating. 🥳 Feeling grateful to grow in an environment where designers have real agency, not just to think, but to build and ship. 🙌 See how happy I was when I first ran the entire app locally 🥰 Onward 2026 👩🏻‍💻🚀 #ai #product #productdesigner #builders #startup #culture
