Fun, quick, quirky Saturday project 😁: I now get notified when my coding agent is done, errors, or needs input using a tiny desktop robot with gestures, colours, facial expressions, and per-agent identifiers, with optional head tracking and of course – you can pet it 😆! StackChan is a fully open-source kawaii desktop robot, and mine is now an extension of my local coding harnesses. Localised notification surface that is external to my virtual desktop. What began as Shinya Ishikawa’s open-source project has since become community-shaped M5Stack robot. With a recent Kickstarter round finished, that's how I got my hands on one. The repository for the firmware update and bridge is linked in the comments 🎉

To explore this approach, we’ve developed an AI Robot Imitation Learning Kit called “ugo Pro R&D.” The idea is simple: make it easier to teach robots new tasks through intuitive, hands-on interaction. Rather than coding every movement, users can guide the robot and let it learn. It feels closer to how people actually teach, and it opens up new ways to think about robotics.
