  • A General Solution supporting Real-time and Remote Electrocardiogram Diagnostic based on Embedded and Mobile Technology

International Symposium on Information and Communication Technology (SoICT) 2012

Dung Cao Tuan, Thuan Pham Van, Viet Hoang Anh
(Summary) Remote electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring and diagnosis system

  • Bucketing Failing Tests via Symbolic Analysis

International Conference on Fundamental Approaches to Software Engineering (FASE) 2017

Van-Thuan Pham, Sakaar Khurana, Subhajit Roy, Abhik Roychoudhury
(Summary) Normally a bug finding tool (e.g. a Fuzzing tool) can produce hundreds or even thousands of failing tests which might failed because of same reason. The overwhelming number of "similar" failing tests wastes developers' time and efforts. Our tool is designed to remarkably reduce the number of failing tests to ease the software debugging process.

  • Coverage-based Greybox Fuzzing as Markov Chain

ACM Conference on Computer and Communications Security (CCS) 2016

Marcel Böhme, Van-Thuan Pham, Abhik Roychoudhury
(Summary) We have developed AFLFast, an extension of AFL, the state-of-the-art coverage-based grey-box fuzzing tool. AFLFast achieves effective path exploration without program analysis. The tool is available on GitHub and has been used both internally and externally to discover more than 50 zero-day vulnerabilities. About ten of them have been assigned CVE ids.

  • Directed Greybox Fuzzing

ACM Conference on Computer and Communications Security (CCS) 2017

Marcel Böhme, Van-Thuan Pham, Manh-Dung Nguyen, Abhik Roychoudhury

  • Hercules: Reproducing Crashes in Real-World Application Binaries

ACM/IEEE International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE) 2015

Van-Thuan Pham, Wei Boon Ng, Konstantin Rubinov and Abhik Roychoudhury
(Summary) Symbolic execution for multi-module program binaries (e.g, Adobe Reader)

  • Integrated Timing Analysis of Application and Operating Systems Code

IEEE Real-time Systems Symposium (RTSS) 2013

Lee Kee Chong, Clement Ballabriga, Van-Thuan Pham, Sudipta Chattopadhyay and Abhik Roychoudhury
(Summary) Integrated WCET analyis on full software & hardware stack

  • Model-based Whitebox Fuzzing for Program Binaries

IEEE/ACM International Conference on Automated Software Engineering (ASE) 2016

Van-Thuan Pham, Marcel Böhme and Abhik Roychoudhury
(Summary) We have developed a hybrid fuzzing (Model-based Black-box Fuzzing as embodied in Peach and Directed Symbolic Execution based White-box Fuzzing as embodied in Hercules) to test programs taking complex file inputs (e.g, PDF or PNG)
