What’s new in Shopify

Previously, checkout listed shipping and local pickup options vertically, creating a long scrollable list that made it hard for customers to quickly scan—especially for complex checkouts with multiple pickup locations. Checkout now displays the first available local pickup location with an option to view and select additional locations.

No action is required to display these updates.

• Shipping and local pickup options now appear inline for easier selection
• Delivery method selection is determined by whether items in the cart is eligible for shipping or local pickup
• Local pickup only appears when items are pickup eligible, including when there are available pickup locations in the buyer's country
• Selecting local pickup shows the nearest location with item availability; a modal displays the full list

You may want to review your checkout extension configuration to ensure any customizations still display correctly with these changes.
