Now that the AI hype is starting to cool down, maybe it’s time to have a more honest conversation : • Not every problem needs an AI solution. • The first step should always be to understand the real business need. • Often, simpler approaches can deliver the same (or even better) results. • Generative AI isn’t a miracle solution that will solve everything. • The real value lies in the data, how it’s collected, structured, and leveraged, whether for decision-making, forecasting, or powering an AI model. • Technology should come after a clear understanding of the problem, not before. Many KPIs exist only to justify salaries. Not to drive decisions. Not to improve outcomes. Not to create accountability. They exist so someone can look busy, sound analytical, and defend their role in a meeting. When a metric doesn’t change behavior, it’s not a KPI — it’s a shield. 🚀 Upgrading Hyperfuel: Our Journey to React Native’s New Architecture Over the past few weeks at Altir, our team successfully completed one of the most challenging engineering upgrades yet — migrating our production app Hyperfuel to React Native’s New Architecture. Believe me — it was not easy. This wasn’t just a version bump. It was a full-scale migration packed with deep platform changes, including: ⚙️ Moving from the old bridge-based system to JSI-based New Architecture (Fabric + TurboModules) 📱 Supporting Android 15 and 16KB memory page sizes 🖥️ Enabling edge-to-edge UI for modern Android devices 🧩 Upgrading 50+ dependencies. Replacing depreciated libraries, migrating some to Expo-managed libraries 💡 Why this matters: This migration took us countless hours of research, debugging, and coordination — but the outcome was worth it. The app now launches faster, performs smoother, and is future-ready for upcoming React Native versions.
