Our Story

jDai Lab (JaiDed AI) was founded in 2020 with a simple ambition: pursue breakthroughs that change what's possible.

Our first project was EasyOCR — at the time, the only credible open source OCR was Tesseract, and the gap between research-grade accuracy and a usable library was wide. We closed it. EasyOCR hit #1 Global Trending on GitHub, grew to over 29,000 stars, and became one of the most widely adopted OCR tools in the world.

After EasyOCR, we built professional services for organizations — from startups to Fortune 500 companies — bringing AI capabilities into real products and workflows.

Today, we're jDai Lab — an AI research lab focused on the next frontier of Agentic AI. The questions worth working on are the ones without obvious answers, and that's where we spend our time.

What does JaiDed mean?

JaiDed (ใจเด็ด) (pronounce as jai-ded) means "courageous mind" in Thai. The name reminds us of the most important quality in any great endeavour.
