AI platforms are the new starting point for product discovery and purchase decisions. Most brands and retailers aren't ready for that. Their catalogs were never designed for machines that evaluate, compare, and recommend on their behalf. ReFiBuy.ai exists to solve that. The round was led by NewRoad Capital Partners, with participation from Ridge Ventures, Silicon Road Ventures, Incubate Fund, Vela Partners, G20 Ventures, Commerce Ventures, Knoll Ventures, and retail industry angel investors. The next platform shift in commerce is here. AI shopping agents are becoming the new interface consumers use to research, find, and buy products. Most product catalogs, however, were built for human browsing, marketplace feeds, and keyword-driven discovery, not for the way agents evaluate and recommend products. That shift is creating a new operating discipline for commerce teams: Agentic Commerce Optimization (ACO). We defined ACO and built the platform to operationalize it, giving brands and retailers the infrastructure they need to prepare their catalogs for AI-powered shopping. This funding will help us scale the platform, accelerate go-to-market, and support more brands and retailers as they compete in the agentic commerce era. It's already been little over a month and what a ride it's been. 🎢 Working alongside Link across 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵, 𝘈𝘐, 𝘎𝘛𝘔, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘌𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 has given me a front-row seat to how every piece fits together. We've been digging into features, understanding customer pain points, brainstorming and building solutions side-by-side. The whiteboard sessions where we sweat the details, debate the approach, and work through the edge cases have easily been my 𝘧𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵. Beyond that, the best part has been plugging into every side of the business: 𝘖𝘯 𝘎𝘛𝘔, riding along with Derek and Zach on customer meetings (from Day 1), seeing how we show up in front of customers. 𝘖𝘯 E𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘈𝘐, Cameron and James always push the thinking on how we solve problems, and everything on the agent and orchestration side is genuinely futuristic. 𝘖𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘪𝘨𝘨𝘦𝘳 𝘱𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦, learning from Scot and picking his brain on Agentic Commerce has been incredibly insightful. Shoutout to Retailgentic, highly recommend for staying on top of what's new in Agentic Commerce, and catch the alpha before it hits everyone else's feed 👀. What drew me here: 🏃♂️➡️ I'd been going deep on understanding AEO and GEO, and when I came across ACO (Agentic Commerce Optimization), I knew this was where I wanted to be. At ReFiBuy.ai (Research → Find → Buy), we're building out the Commerce Intelligence Engine, essentially turning ACO into an operating system for brands and retailers. In simple words: Traditional e-commerce, reimagined for agentic world. It's early, and it's super fast-moving. Huge thanks to the whole team for this opportunity. ✨ Also it was great meeting Adam, Trisha, and Brian this past week. Scot Wingo's first move: look up when the company was founded on LinkedIn. Started before 2022? Very hard to be truly AI native. That's the filter. That's how you cut through the noise. And the noise is real. It used to feel like a 10 when it was actually a 2. Now it's a genuine 9. Scot has been building for 25 years. Took ChannelAdvisor public. He has invested in 167 companies through the NC Tweener Fund, Powered by NC IDEA. And he'll tell you this is the most exciting time he's ever seen to building products. It's also 10% terrifying. But as someone who types out every post and comment I write, these AI comments by maybe not even real people just restating nonsense from post's copy are maybe the most annoying thing ever? I might start just trolling them here and there to see if they can go back and forth and hang. Probably not. Also if you're bad at writing I'm cool with smart people use Claude to help structure thoughts better. Not for me but I won't hate. I'm bad at Excel so I use it for that it's all good. The general AI junk on here is just getting insane though. Can't wait for a few to comment on this one lol.

Some fun facts about AI & Commerce: 1) AI agents are already influencing $262B+ in commerce 2) Nearly 50% of consumers now use AI in shopping journeys (discovery, consideration, purchase) With the tidal wave of traffic coming from points 1 & 2 be it on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Rufus, Sparky, the way brands and retailers position themselves in front of customers (human or agent) is fundamentally different. We will most likely see an attempt at "sponsored prompts" again. Retail Media Networks might not look like they do today in a year or two, but don't expect advertising to just vanish. Brands and retailers need to think about showing their product or service to an AI agent & a human. If your data isn't structured and machine-readable, an agent can't and might not execute on that transaction or recommendation. I’ve reviewed 100s of discovery calls. The #1 difference between AEs converting 40% and AEs converting 70%+ of first calls is the number of problems discussed. And the top reps discuss fewer. Reps that don’t convert go wide, trying to find anything and everything to tie their product to. They think: “The more problems I find, the better chance I have of solving some of them.” Reps that convert go deep into the most important problems uncovered. They think: “I need to attach to a problem worth solving.” I built a discovery capture sheet that will help “guide” your conversations to go deep, instead of wide. Everyone's talking about execution gaps in the channel. Fast responses. Clear ownership. Clean handoffs. They're not wrong. But they're diagnosing the symptom. Suppliers are managing relationships with tools built for transactions. Portal chaos. Event budgets with no measurable return. Incentives that move product but don't build trust. When the infrastructure is transactional, you can't process your way out of it. You can add KPIs. You can tighten accountability. The gaps come back. The suppliers pulling ahead aren't fixing the old system. They're building on something different. The channel says it runs on relationships. The tools never got the memo.
