Recently in a client interaction I called POC an outdated concept, this article has gone one step further and says it's dead, can't agree more. You have to deploy and test simultaneously and evaluate results and not do a POC on some random sample or fudged data!! A full blown implementation is the way forward in AI projects else start ups will waste a lot of time and resources!!

Y Combinator just put AI-Native B2B service agencies on their 2026 “Requests for Startups” list. That should tell you something. I’ve been running service companies since 2017. Here’s my take: - People will buy fewer human hours. - AI will keep eating the IT services market. And this is the key mistake I see founders making: 👉 Trying to compete with AI instead of building around it. Adding more people is no longer a strategy. ⸻ The agencies that will survive (and win) look very different. They’ll be small, boutique-style teams that deliver outsized value - not headcount. Here’s what that actually means in practice: 1. AI-first delivery and growth Agencies must use AI to scale delivery and client acquisition. Every B2B SaaS homepage I write starts with the SAME messaging anchor (without it even your ICP skim, scroll, and bounce!) because nothing else pulls them out of their status quo or pushes them toward a new solution like this ↓ The anchor does two specific things: PULL — names the friction already slowing their day. PUSH — offers a first move that feels lighter than their current workaround. Put those two lines beside each other and attention flips from “Interesting idea.” to “I can do this right now!?” Here is why the PULL / PUSH sequence works (consistently!) The shift happens when your solution looks like less friction than staying stuck. ✅ PULL surfaces that pain in words they already use, so their current logic cracks. They move when the first step looks smaller than the pain they just faced. ✅ PUSH presents one clear, low-effort action, so moving forward feels safer than inertia. Couldn’t deliver. Went bankrupt. – Air Canada: Let an AI chatbot give refund policy advice. It was wrong. A judge forced them to honor the refund anyway. – Microsoft: Used AI to help engineers write code. It produced buggy, embarrassing outputs that went public. Engineers had to clean up the mess. – Snapchat: Rolled out “My AI” chatbot. Users called it creepy, unhelpful, and invasive. Parents pushed back. Reviews tanked. – IBM: Announced 8,000 jobs would be replaced by AI. Quietly rehired thousands after AI underdelivered. – Klarna: Fired 700 to “go AI.” Systems broke. Rehired humans.
