MEET PAKISTANI TALENT Rehan Jalil Rehan Jalil is currently the CEO of Securiti. He was the SVP and GM for Cloud Security at Symantec, leading research and development for Cloud Security Products.Rehan came into Symantec with $4.7B acquisition of Bluecoat, where he ran cloud security. He came into BlueCoat via the $280M acquisition of Elastica, that he founded and ran as CEO. Elastica innovated CASB and drove it to become an important security category. Prior to that, he was the founder and chief executive officer of WiChours, an innovator in deep packet inspection centered packet core, which was used to deploy some of the earliest 4G networks. WiChorus was acquired by Tellabs for $180M. Previously, he was Chief Architect at Aperto and helped innovate multicore processors at Sun Microsystems. He was named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur finalist in 2010 and Top 25 Disruptor in 2015.He holds an AMP from Harvard Business School, an MSEE from Purdue University and a BS from NED University. Pakistani-Owned Tech Company Sold for $1.7 Billion Securiti AI, founded by Pakistani entrepreneur Rehan Jalil, has been acquired by Veeam for about $1.7 billion. The company provides data-security and AI-governance tools used to protect and manage data across cloud platforms. Jalil will join Veeam as president of security and AI after the deal closes later this year. The acquisition is celebrated as a major success for Pakistani talent in the global tech industry. This spectrum auction marks an important milestone for Pakistan’s digital future. I would like to appreciate the Government of Pakistan, the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, and the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority for successfully concluding this process. A stable and transparent policy environment gives the telecom sector the confidence to continue investing in the country’s digital growth. It was an honor to participate in the 🇺🇸 🇵🇰 Pakistan- U.S. Tech Conference at the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, D.C. I was humbled to join a fireside chat alongside leaders I truly respect - moderated by Mr. Tariq Khan (He/Him/His), President of OPEN Global, with Mr. Imran Aftab, CEO of 10Pearls, speaking alongside me. It was also great to hear insights from Ms. Rebecka Zavaleta (CEO, Paismo), Mr. Hasnain Aslam (CEO, TRG Pakistan), and Mr. Farrukh Usman (CEO, Byonyks Medical Devices). What impressed me most was the caliber of CEOs, founders, and innovators coming out of 🇵🇰 Pakistan 🇵🇰 - bringing fresh ideas and already leveraging AI in meaningful ways. The momentum around tech and AI in Pakistan is real, and growing fast. Some of the most important reminders came from lessons I’ve lived myself: ⚙️ “A great idea without execution is just a story. That’s why you need a GSD mentality.” 🔥 “Trust your gut, believe in yourself, and take the risk - especially when it’s uncomfortable.” 🧠 “To build something that lasts, be process-dependent, not people-dependent.” Because at the end of the day - mission, vision, values, and True North 🧭 aren’t just words. They’re culture. And if you don’t reinforce that culture as a leader, your team won’t live it either. The meeting focused on improving internet connectivity, supporting IT companies and freelancers, and planning future collaborations to boost digital growth in the region. Several important topics were discussed, including operational challenges faced by SCO, electricity supply issues, and infrastructure difficulties in remote areas.
