We Are #MoreThan the Council of Churches. We are nine outreach services working closely with 72 member congregations from 17 different religious affiliations. The Council of Churches of the Ozarks assists with basic services — food, shelter, clothing — a comforting hand to help in times of need. Committed to the idea of serving the community through collaboration with churches and other agencies, compassion and outreach to the most vulnerable, and empowering volunteers and donors to find new ways to help fulfill the needs in our community. We do this by cultivating a listening relationship with the communities we serve to discern and develop programs and services in keeping with our shared mission. As complex community issues, such as child abuse, poverty, homelessness, and hunger arise, CCO and its outreach services, in partnership with member churches, engage these issues, offering service and a faith-based voice. We offer an example of unity-through-service in addressing the needs of the community while leading the charge of being ONE…ONE Community, serving ONE God, Reaching Out in Compassion to the ONES in Need. Ozarks Counseling Center originally formed in Springfield, Missouri in 1952 and was called the Greene County Child Guidance Clinic. It was the first child guidance clinic in the area and was established to treat emotional and behavioral problems of children. A few years later, the clinic began treating the parents of the children. A few years later, the clinic began treating the parents of the children. By the 1960’s it became known as the Greene County Guidance clinic and began serving all adults and children in need of mental health services. In the early 1990s the name was changed to Ozarks Counseling Center to reflect the fact that we serve clients from all over SW Missouri and sometimes NW Arkansas with quality and affordable counseling. The Library Foundation promotes charitable giving in support of a strong and innovative Springfield-Greene County Library District.

Since its inception in 1993, The Library Foundation has worked to further the Springfield-Greene County Library’s goal of enriching the community with quality resources, facilities and programming – including extensive children’s programming. We facilitated fundraising efforts for high-profile projects such as the Library Center on South Campbell, southwest Missouri’s first destination library, InfoLink, the community’s first online database project and several renovation/ expansion projects at area branches. The Library Foundation has also been instrumental in founding several funds dedicated to specific library fundraising efforts.
