Regenerative design is the biomimicry of ecosystems that provide for all human systems to function as a closed viable ecological economics system for all industry. It parallels ecosystems in that organic (biotic) and synthetic (abiotic) material is not just metabolized but metamorphosed into new viable materials. Ecosystems and regeneratively designed systems are holistic frameworks that seek to create systems that are absolutely waste free.

Developed by Kauffman Labs for Enterprise Creation, and refined by entrepreneurs around the world, we've created an educational program that holds the key to activating your city’s community of entrepreneurs through online curriculum, coaching and experiential learning. The program is run of, by and for entrepreneurs--a dedicated group of startup community organizers in each active community volunteer their time to organize a promote 1 Million Cups each week. Teams of organizers license the 1 Million Cups toolset from Kauffman Labs for free, and events are run semi-autonomously. We’re as grassroots as it gets--hosting our events out of coffee shops, TV stations, universities, and community centers.

FedEx supports small business with the FedEx Small Business Grant Contest. Over 5,000 small businesses applied. The applicants were narrowed down to the top 100, and then the final champions were announced on the FedEx Small Business Center on March 24, 2013.

Each week, the 1MC program offers two local entrepreneurs an opportunity to present their startups to a diverse audience of mentors, advisors, and entrepreneurs. Presenters prepare a 6 minute educational presentation and engage in 20 minutes of feedback and questioning after they present. Entrepreneurs gain insight into possible ways they can improve their businesses, gather realtime feedback, connect with a community that truly cares about their progress, and walk away feeling like they have advanced their business. The audience also learns a great deal from the presentations.
