I've been doing basically the same job for over 20 years now: implementing and supporting TMS. That time has been split equally between being at the vendor or third-party consultancy running implementations and upgrades, and as an end user responsible for the day-to-day support of the system. Having done both jobs, what you notice is how little time is spent during the design and implementation phases, thinking about how a solution will be used in practice. There are usually good reasons for this, especially in the time crunch of an implementation, but the long-term benefits of taking even a small amount of time to ask if there is a better way of doing something are huge. That's what prompted this white paper, or maybe I just got tired of trying to figure out what undocumented user tables are meant to do... #Findur #TMS #Support #BAU
