Chaz Berman shared thisExcited to share that our crowdfunding campaign is live on StartEngine https://lnkd.in/gh8u-JJp We spent the last eight years developing a new, patented regenerative, organic nitrogen product designed to replace synthetic nitrogen, which, as you know, is a $135B annual business. Approximately 50% of synthetic nitrogen has leached from 570 million farms worldwide into our streams, rivers, and oceans, as well as our groundwater. We have completed our pilot plant and are now raising funds to build a commercial-scale plant in Arizona, thereby reshoring all our production to save on shipping, tariffs, and fees, to increase our gross margins. Consider joining us in making a wise investment and helping repair an ecological disaster. Chaz https://lnkd.in/gh8u-JJp

As we enter our second decade, we honor the foundation built by our founder , Christine Moseley, who will be transitioning from CEO to the Board. Over the last 10 years under Christine, Full Harvest built a mission-driven powerhouse anchored by a decade of proprietary, high-context supply chain data and technology. This foundation earned the company recognition as Fast Company’s #1 World Changing Idea in Food, a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer, Inc top female founders, and AgFunder’s 'Most Innovative Supply Chain Tech Startup' Award. And the backing of several top-tier investors including TELUS, Rabobank, Rethink Impact, LP, Astia, Citi Impact Fund, and JAL Translink Innovation Fund. We thank her for her pioneering leadership as she passes the baton for this next phase of scale and growth. The Vision: Defining the Agentic Layer for Global Food. The global fresh food supply chain is one of the last great frontiers for digital transformation. Under Sumer’s leadership, Full Harvest is asserting its position as the agentic B2B system for the food industry. By turning our premier moat—ten years of proprietary, high-context supply chain data and tech—into a dynamic "System of Action," we are delivering the autonomous orchestration and unprecedented velocity required by the world’s largest food enterprises. "Full Harvest has the data, the network, and the DNA," says Sumer. "Now, we are adding superpowered agentic orchestration to procurement, compliance, logistics, and finance. Our vision is to harness the AI-era’s promise to enable every stakeholder in the global food supply chain to thrive in an increasingly uncertain world." The Leader: A Legacy of Scale and Innovation. Sumer joins Full Harvest with a distinguished track record of leading complex organizations through rapid growth and high-stakes liquidity events. His career in technology-first leadership spans the globe and across multiple high-impact sectors—including AgTech, BioEnergy, Semiconductors, Financial Services, and Consumer Retail. Beyond his operational leadership, Sumer has served as a trusted advisor to some of the world’s largest vertical B2B technology companies, helping them navigate the critical intersection of deep tech and global challenges. He brings a rigorous technical perspective to this mission, holding both a BS and MEng in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT. Please join us in welcoming Sumer to the team as we accelerate our mission to revolutionize the $T global fresh food supply chain. #FullHarvest #SupplyChain #CEOAnnouncement #AgenticB2B #AgTech #DigitalTransformation #ExecutiveLeadership

Chaz Berman liked thisChaz Berman liked thisOne CEO to Another Celebrate 55 years with me. I sold my first business in 1971. Since then, I have built, scaled, repaired, and occasionally rescued more businesses than I can easily count. Some became household names. Others became good places to work. A few should never have existed. What that long view gives you is not certainty. It gives you restraint. The biggest gains never came from a smarter model or a sharper strategy. Those are table stakes. Character is not. If I were starting again, I would still work hard on the mechanics. I would simply spend far more time on the human operating system, starting with my own. Early on, I hired who I could afford rather than stretching for the talent I actually needed. It felt prudent. It was catastrophic. The business hit a ceiling that was really my ceiling, projected onto the organisation chart. The turning point came when I overstretched financially to get someone plainly better than me and gave them real authority rather than an ornamental title. It was financially uncomfortable and personally worse. It also unlocked growth I could never have delivered alone. If your identity is tied too tightly to being right, the organisation stops telling you the truth. Low ego is not humility theatre. It is structural. Courage is writing a cheque that frightens you, because surrounding yourself with people who fit the budget but not the ambition is the most expensive decision you will ever make. There was a business I should have released two years before I did. The signs were there. The story in my head was stronger. Grit kept me in the room. Stubbornness kept me in the wrong room. What finally broke the pattern was a peer asking a question I had been avoiding. No advice. Just a question. That is where resilience lives. Not in stoicism, but in staying close to people who ask the uncomfortable question before it becomes an expensive answer. One of the best decisions I ever made was backing someone years before it looked safe. They saw the market in ways that made no sense to me. My instinct was to coach them into my own thinking. Instead, I stayed curious. I listened. What they saw was where the market was heading, not where it had been. The best leaders seek peers who are ahead of them, not admirers who mistake agreement for challenge. They stay genuinely curious about how the next generation sees the world rather than trying to mould it. I did not always get these things right. I listened too late. I held on when I should have let go. What mattered was owning mistakes early, telling the truth when it was uncomfortable, and surrounding myself with people whose character compensated for my limits. If I were starting again, I would spend less time polishing the story and more time designing a business that could attract, grow, and retain people better than me. The curse of the founder is that opportunity is more often diminished by the person who built the business than by the market itself.

Chaz Berman liked thisI’ve had the opportunity to meet with Chris Hetherington and his team multiple times over the past several months. I've heard their pitches at the Athlon Family Office Sports Investment Summit and on the Pro Athlete Community (PAC) deal flow forum. What stands out immediately is how forward-thinking this organization is about the customer experience. The Fathead team isn’t just thinking about product innovation in isolation; they’re thinking about how AI, personalization, and data-driven decision making can reshape how customers discover, customize, and engage with the brand at scale. That mindset—pairing a legacy brand with modern infrastructure—is what creates real, defensible growth. Chris, in particular, has a deep command of the business. He understands where the true value levers are, how to unlock incremental revenue streams, and how to modernize without losing what made the brand resonate in the first place. That combination of operational fluency and strategic vision is rare—and it shows in the clarity of their growth plans. With the FIFA World Cup 2026™ - Canada, Mexico and the United States on the horizon, the timing couldn’t be better. The opportunity for Fathead to meaningfully expand into the soccer space—both domestically and internationally—is significant. Few brands are as well positioned to capture the emotional connection fans have with clubs, players, and national teams in a way that feels personal and experiential. Exciting momentum, smart leadership, and a massive cultural moment ahead. Looking forward to watching this next chapter unfold.Chaz Berman liked thisWe had an incredible time in Las Vegas this week at the Sports Licensing and Tailgate Show! Defenders have to get timing, upgrades, and migration right. Attackers only have to wait. In 2018 they did the same thing and left a thank you note for the hosts in 3 languages... On top of this... photo's have emerged of large groups of Japanese fans staying behind after the game to clean all of the stands. This isn't just a clean dressing room, it's a clear demonstration of values. It's a statement about respect, gratitude and attention to detail. The small things are the biggest indicator of the big things - your values. Huge respect for the Japanese national team and their wonderful culture, values and people.

An Interview with Wine Economist, Robin Goldstein Robin is an economist who at the time, was Principal Economic Counselor at the University of California Agricultural Issues Center, but later moved on to cannabis economics. His (along with co-author Alexis Herschkowitsch) book, The Wine Trials, is a practical guide as well as a fascinating look at what different groups value in wine. This interview was conducted in November of 2019. RM: Robin, can you tell me what you're up to these days? “I finished my PhD in Economics recently. I went back to the heart of the original study of wine snobs, studying price and other properties of wine and expanded it to several categories. My thesis is called "The Bullshit Horizon," and it covers wines, beers and restaurants. After I set up a prank on Wine Spectator in which they bestowed an Award of Excellence for a wine list at a nonexistent restaurant (web site and phone only) that featured the Spectator's worst-rated wines, I was interested in these kinds of awards and their impact on the prices that could be charged. Since there seemed to be a lot of them, these awards are what economists call "non-rationed goods." The entry fee to be considered for a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence is $250, and as the example of the fake restaurant shows, they hand them out pretty freely, as in "non-rationed." We wanted to know how good an investment that is. We looked at Zagat as far as pricing and looked for correlation. W-S awarded restaurants had higher food prices, but there was actually a negative correlation between price and ratings at a certain price categories.” RM: You became pretty well known with a book called The Wine Trials, in which various wines were blind tasted by different groups, from expert to rank amateur, and the results bore little resemblance to price. “I've got another study coming out in the Journal of Wine Economists. We did a "half-blind" tasting. We took two identical bottles of white wine, and put one in a brown bag, and left the other one with its label and also a price sticker showing. We tested the same wine at two purported price levels: $5 and $50. When we asked people to rate the wine, the low-price wine was rated lower than the brown-bag (nobody noticed they were the same), while the $50 wine was rated as higher than the anonymous one. I was a wine and food critic and writer before the Wine Trials (Book: The Wine Trials, a cross-country experiment in blind wine tastings), and was trained as a sommelier. I really felt I was not a snob or a bullshit artist. But after the trials, it became apparent to me that there was absolutely no relationship between wine price and drinker preference, except maybe that most people preferred inexpensive wines to expensive ones. So I had to admit to myself that I was one of the people who was full of shit...
