Roy Chomko shared thisWe have been talking about this a lot over the past year. Adage Technologies started out as a software development firm creating web applications starting in 2001. Most of this work involved building custom ecommerce and web portals. We then moved on to all things digital (software, ecommerce, CMS). Software development remains in our core and while vibe coding is great for one offs and prototyping, there is still a very real need for discipline and understanding of good software engineering. This means using Claude Code (or other tools) and putting the right guardrails (and human in the loop) around it so that the code is secure, scalable, and maintainable in the long term is critical. The good news is we can now move better and faster while providing more value. That custom software project that might have been out of touch due to costs but might provide that competitive edge, might now be in reach …Roy Chomko shared thisFor most of the software era, building an application required a team. A product manager to scope it, engineers to build it, designers to shape it, and months of iteration before it reached production. That cost, in time, talent, and capital, acted as a natural filter. Only software that served a large enough market or solved a painful enough problem justified the investment. Everything else was handled with spreadsheets, manual processes, or off-the-shelf tools that roughly fit. AI is removing that filter. 🌐 Visit our website: https://alten.capital/ #AI #SoftwareDevelopment #Innovation #TechTrends #AltenCapital

Roy Chomko shared thisAwesome work Sameena Khan and the rest of the American Academy of Pediatrics / Adage Technologies team. This is a great use case for AI and digital. It requires minimal disruption to how you are doing things today but can vastly improve the user experience.Roy Chomko shared thisAs we enter 2026, I wanted to share one of the most challenging but rewarding projects I worked on from the past year: the new search experience for the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). We moved away from a keyword based search implementation to one that brought AAP a “Google-quality” search using Google Vertex AI Search and Google Vertex AI Search for Commerce. Google Vertex AI Search uses semantic search to understand what the user is actually asking, instead of relying on matching keywords. It also provides additional features like a generative AI overview to give users information quickly, grounded with citations, and suggested follow up questions to help users get to the information they need. We found that search result quality improved drastically with this new implementation. For the e-commerce experience, Google Vertex Search for Commerce allows users to find products quickly, filter results, and view recommendations based on their past behavior. This project was a first both for myself and my company. As the lead developer, I dove into learning about Google Vertex AI Search. It was challenging to gather information, navigating a maze of documentation and rapid feature updates. We began with a research and development phase, where I focused on identifying what Google Vertex AI Search could do, and I worked with my team to build a proof of concept to demonstrate this. After that, I worked with our design team to ensure that we designed an updated search experience that is tailored to the features Google Vertex AI Search offers. Lastly, we entered development to bring this to life. We built the new search page using React and Typescript. The backend included a new page using Optimizely CMS as well as C# Web API controllers that used Google’s SDKs to interact with Google Vertex AI Search and send data to the new React application. You can see the updated search experience here: https://lnkd.in/gu2aEmAT. (See a preview below!) Thank you so much to my team for your hard work on this project! Roy Chomko reposted thisIt is so important for children and families that HHS entities focus on their health and wellbeing. This ruling protects key activities but there is much work ahead.Roy Chomko reposted thisA federal judge has ruled that HHS must restore nearly $12 million in grants to the AAP while an ongoing lawsuit, filed by the Academy, proceeds. This ruling stops HHS’s unlawful retaliation against the AAP for speaking out in defense of children’s health. “Today’s court action offers welcome relief for children and families, who benefit from these important services that make communities safer and healthier,” said AAP Executive Vice President and CEO Mark Del Monte in a statement. “The federal government remains an essential partner to improving the health of children. The AAP will continue to do all we can to support children’s health and wellbeing, just as we’ve always done, and we will continue to speak out and take action against threats to children’s health, just as we’ve always done.” These grants help fund critical pediatric public health initiatives nationwide. Roy Chomko reposted thisRoy Chomko reposted thisI'm excited to share an achievement from my team this week: the launch of the refreshed event registration path for the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI). This project addressed a path that needed user experience improvements. The new path features a visually enhanced UI, breadcrumbs to guide navigation, clear and visible pricing, additional filtering options, and a program summary that tracks user selections in real-time. It was an ambitious goal with a tight timeline. My team rose to the challenge, putting in the extra effort to ensure our successful launch. Our client, CPI, reported initial satisfaction as well. We built the front end using React and TypeScript. The backend included new pages using Optimizely CMS as well as C# Web API controllers to send data to the new application. As the lead developer, I had the privilege of working on this project from start to finish. My responsibilities included client meetings and demos, technical planning, feature implementation, and onboarding and collaborating with my teammates to ensure we met our launch date. Check out the new and improved registration path here: https://lnkd.in/giK-EJ_C. (See a preview of the new flow below!) Thank you to my teammates who made this project possible: Alison DeFrancisco, Jacob Perry, Christopher Macharia, Jorge Luna, Maddie Nielsen, Derrick Bauer, Amy Tolle. #Optimizely #OptimizelyCMS #ReactJS #React #TypeScript #CSharp

Roy Chomko shared thisGreat time connecting with everyone in the association space last week at #ASAE2025. Many good discussions and sessions.Roy Chomko shared thisASAE 2025 left us buzzing with ideas and energy! ✨ This premier gathering of association leaders, innovators, and partners, which took place last week, sparked meaningful conversations around digital transformation, engagement, and the future of associations. In the words of Jess Dichiacchio, Senior Client Consultant: "I always look forward to attending the ASAE Annual Conference. One of the main highlights this year was growing my network and hearing firsthand from Association Leaders about the challenges they're facing. These conversations help me better understand how to make an impact through Adage's digital solutions. I'm looking forward to continuing these conversations beyond the conference." A big thank you to the organizers ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership, and everyone who stopped by to share challenges, swap stories, and imagine what's possible next. Our team left feeling inspired, energized, and excited to keep the momentum going. Until next time! 👋🚀

Over the past year, our team executed across a wide range of healthcare transactions, supporting providers nationwide with debt financing and treasury solutions. From acquisition and bridge‑to‑HUD financing to warehouse lines, refinances, and cash‑out transactions, it’s been a year defined by disciplined execution and trusted partnerships. Q1 2026 was strong, the pipeline remains active, and we’re beginning to look into the second half of the year with optimism. Roy Chomko liked thisRoy Chomko liked thisAs many of you know, Reggie Henry, CAE has announced that he will be transitioning from ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership at the end of our fiscal year in August, closing an extraordinary chapter of more than 30 years of service to this organization and to the broader association community. It’s hard to fully capture what Reggie has meant to ASAE, but for me, it’s even more personal. Since I stepped into the role of President and CEO, Reggie has been an enormous help to me in more ways than I can count. His counsel, his perspective, his ability to see around corners, and his steady, thoughtful approach to even the most complex challenges have been invaluable. There have been countless moments – big and small – where I’ve relied on his wisdom, and I am deeply grateful for that partnership. That’s who Reggie is – committed, generous, and always thinking about what’s best for ASAE and our community. There will be more opportunities in the months ahead to celebrate him in the ways he deserves, including during ASAE’s Annual Meeting this year in Indianapolis. But for now, I simply want to say thank you. Thank you for your leadership, your partnership, your humor, and your unwavering commitment to this organization. And on a lighter note: Tuesdays will never be quite the same. Reggie’s tradition of bringing in pies and sending our staff a photo of that day’s selection has become part of the fabric of our culture. It’s one of those small, joyful rituals that reminds you how much a colleague can shape not just the work, but the spirit of a place. We’re going to miss that. We’re going to miss him. I’d love for you to join me in celebrating Reggie by sharing your own “Reggieism” or a favorite (or funny!) memory. Let’s make sure he knows just how much he means to all of us.

We talked through some of the impactful updates coming to the Umbraco CMS, as well as improvements for the existing platform and ecosystem. It's sessions like these where am I reminded just how amazing the Umbraco team is, and how incredibly passionate the community is about making Umbraco CMS the most flexible, scalable, and user-friendly CMS on the market. I'm eager to speak more to these updates when they are announced, but for now just know great things are coming!

Roy Chomko liked thisRoy Chomko liked thisHonored to receive the 2025 Vistage Speaker Top Performer Award for the 6th consecutive year (2020–2025). The graphic tells the headline. Here's the story behind it. I delivered 108 in-person sessions in 2025 across 21 states and Canada — five active programs spanning AI for business, talent strategy, agentic workforce design, and economic outlook. Aggregate scores across all sessions: 4.91 Content, 4.81 Delivery, 4.87 Applicability, 99.4% recommend rate. Nearly one in three sessions scored a perfect 5.0 across all dimensions. But I've been sitting with the 1,175 written participant comments, and they tell me more than any score ever could. The most common theme? Prompting. Over 100 participants specifically wrote about learning to craft better prompts — not as an abstract concept, but as something they planned to do differently starting that afternoon. The second most common: 79 participants wrote down a specific action commitment. Not "this was interesting" — but "I will create a GPT for our hiring process" or "I'm signing up for Claude tomorrow" or "I'm taking a day off next week to explore this." That's the metric I care about most. A great presentation entertains. A great session equips. The constructive feedback was equally instructive. Twenty participants said some version of "overwhelming" — too much content, too fast, too many possibilities. Almost everyone said the content was excellent. That tension — between depth and digestibility — is the creative challenge I'll keep working on. Ten participants asked for a full-day or multi-day format, which tells me the constraint isn't interest; it's time. A few comments I'll carry with me: "In my 35 years in Vistage, Sev is one of the top 5, ever." "I have been an AI skeptic, but I can now see direct applications for several aspects of my organization." "First time I could understand AI." That last one might be my favorite. Not because it's the most dramatic, but because it represents the real work — meeting people where they are and helping them cross from confusion to capability. Thank you to every Vistage Chair who booked a session, and to every member who showed up with curiosity. These results are yours as much as mine. And thanks to Vistage Worldwide for the opportunity to speak in these forums. I have the Vistage Trifecta: Member, Chair, and now Speaker. Over 27 years in the community that I so much enjoy. #Vistage #VistageTopPerformerSpeaker #SpeakerImpactAward #AIWhisperer #ExecutiveEducation #Leadership #TopPerformer

Windows 8 Should Be the Choice for Touch Business Apps
CMSWire
Windows 8 was a bold move for Microsoft. And whether you are a regular Microsoft or iOS user, businesses looking to build a line of business mobile applications should consider Windows 8 a front runner, specifically if its touch application would augment what you want to do.

Custom Software vs. Off-the-Shelf: The Value of Fit Over Cost It’s true — custom software typically comes with a higher upfront cost compared to off-the-shelf solutions. Off-the-shelf tools can be a great starting point, but they often require businesses to adapt their processes to fit the software. Over time, those workarounds add up — in lost efficiency, limited flexibility, and frustration. Custom software, on the other hand, empowers businesses to operate the way they want to operate — not how a generic platform thinks they should. Custom software isn’t for everyone, and it isn’t for every stage. But when fit, flexibility, and long-term ROI matter — it’s a conversation worth having. #CustomSoftware #SoftwareDevelopment #BusinessStrategy #DigitalTransformation #TechForBusiness

St. Louis just turned up the volume in #enterpriseautomation. KnowledgeLake, the AI-powered workflow automation company that's been grinding since 1999, just secured a $65M majority growth investment led by Edison Partners. The mid-market and government space, long underserved by the big-box automation players, is finally getting its heavyweight contender. And the contenders here are seasoned. Ron Cameron and Bob Bueltmann built KnowledgeLake from its days reselling #FileNet, #Datacap, and #Kodak, pivoted onto SharePoint before it was cool, sold to Fujitsu's PFU unit in 2013, then bought their baby back in 2018 with support from Plymouth Growth and First Bank. That kind of history isn't a pivot, it's a saga. SaaS revenue climbing more than 50% year-over-year. 95% gross dollar retention and a 130% net revenue retention rate that shows customers aren't just sticking around, they're spending more. 220+ enterprise and #government clients, from the State of Tennessee to Washington University to New Belgium Brewing, trust the platform to process their most critical documents. Over 2M end users log in and get work done. This isn't theory. It's adoption at scale. The product itself isn't playing small ball either. AI-driven intelligent #documentprocessing that learns, low-code and no-code workflow automation that puts power in business users' hands, robotic process automation integrations, and a cloud-native, single-tenant architecture built on Microsoft Azure that keeps regulators and CISOs breathing easier. KnowledgeLake has stayed close to its roots, locking in Microsoft as a strategic partner while delivering something the market has been starved for: a single-vendor, fully integrated platform that doesn't fall apart like ductwork from mismatched parts. And let's talk leadership. Kevin Herr (CEO) steps into the role after serving as COO and CFO, bringing 2 decades of finance and operations experience into the driver's seat. Ron Cameron transitions to Chairman, ensuring that founder DNA still guides the company while Brad Porter as CTO. This isn't a rebuild. It's an evolution. So what does $65M do here? It fuels expansion of customer success programs, doubles down on AI advancements like Synthetic Labor modules, scales R&D headcount, and broadens reach through Microsoft's partner ecosystem. In plain terms: KnowledgeLake is going after the $70B document processing and workflow automation market with sharper tools, a deeper team, and the confidence that only comes from surviving multiple eras of #enterprisesoftware. The lesson? Endurance plus reinvention equals relevance. Some companies chase trends. KnowledgeLake builds the rails the trends eventually ride on. #Startups #StartupFunding #VentureCapital #AI #Automation #Enterprise #EnterpriseTech #EnterpriseAI #SaaS #Robotics #RobotTech #Technology #Innovation #TechEcosystem #StartupEcosystem #Hiring #TechHiring If software engineering peace of mind is what you crave, Vention is your zen.

Thinking about upgrading your IT equipment? The easiest option might seem like trading it in through the OEM’s buyback program, it’s fast, convenient, and familiar. But here’s the problem: OEM buybacks often undervalue your retired assets. Their preset pricing doesn’t always match current market demand, meaning you could be leaving serious money on the table. Why choose remarketing instead? ✅ Transparent pricing — Your assets sold in open market competition, ensuring offers reflect real-world demand. ✅ Maximized returns — Access to diverse resale channels can earn you 20–30% more compared to OEM trade-ins. ✅ No arbitrary deductions — OEMs often dock value for minor cosmetic issues; remarketing focuses on real asset value. At Synetic Technologies, we help businesses unlock the full value of decommissioned hardware, turning retired IT into recovered capital. https://hubs.ly/Q03CnStZ0
