Hi Everyone! 👋 I'm Theresa McFarlane, a seasoned Sr. IT Project & Program Manager and a widely-respected voice in the Agile community.
My background is robust:
Education: Computer Science degree and multiple university accreditations.
Expertise: Deep knowledge across Agile, Project Management, and AI/Technical domains, backed by numerous certifications.
Reputation: Over 10,000 organic followers and 5,500 subscribers to my blog, The Very Agile PM. I'm internationally respected in my field and a proven, rapid, high-impact leader that can wear multiple hats.
The Challenge & Constraint: Despite a strong resume, glowing references, and consistently successful interviews, I've been actively searching for a new role since July 2025 with extremely limited success. I'm currently submitting 10–20 resumes a day and getting radio silence.
To further complicate matters, my husband recently accepted a role, and our family is relocating to South Bend, Indiana. This means I am prioritizing remote opportunities or roles local to the South Bend/Northern Indiana region. I have to remain in WA and sell the house until he can find a place for us to live which is daunting right now considering we have pets.
I'm being ghosted or dismissed as potentially “too Senior” or “too expensive” without even a conversation about my rate (which I’ve already dropped below what I earned 10 years ago to secure a role).
My savings are at their absolute limit. I am selling my personal items online to keep us afloat. I can't even think about Christmas this year as there is no unemployment or food stamps. Luckily I stocked my pantry and freezers when I was working as I forsaw what has come to pass. I am not asking for charity or a GoFundMe. I am asking for an opportunity to interview for a job. I am a real person with real experience.
How You Can Help: I am a dedicated, high-caliber professional who delivers results. I just need a chance to prove it. Please help network me if you are working.
Introduce Me: Do you know a hiring manager or decision-maker in the South Bend area or within an organization hiring for a remote IT Project/Program Manager or Agile Leader? A warm introduction is the most valuable help you can offer.
Share Roles: Please share any open roles—full-time or contract—that align with my skills and location constraints. Do not hesitate to share roles because you think they may be "too junior" or "below my rate." My priority is getting back to work now.
Vouch for Me: If we’ve worked together, a quick comment or reaction can help boost this post and get it in front of more eyes.
I am ready to hit the ground running and make a significant impact on your organization from day one. Thank you for your support, your time, and your consideration.
