Just came across this funding opp for those doing climate resilience work in the US. They say: The Climate Smart Communities Initiative (CSCI) is pleased to announce the launch of the 2026 CSCI grants opportunity for US-based climate resilience projects. CSCI awards provide funding and technical assistance to advance community-based climate resilience in US communities or regions that are highly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. The total grants budget is $1.5-2 million, and grants typically range from $75,000 to $115,000 based on the scope of work proposed in the application. CSCI anticipates awarding between 16-20 grants for the 2026 cycle. The program prioritizes funding for communities that include historically disinvested populations at increased risk to climate-related impacts. It is open to US-based project teams composed of a climate adaptation practitioner and representatives from a local or regional government entity and a community-based organization. At the end of this month, we’re excited to launch the Climate Leaders Circle—a new space for climate leaders to dig into the thorny, complex, and high-impact challenges we face right now. This program is a natural extension of our Regenerative Transition Community of Practice and our Aligned Sustainability Reporting Initiative (ASRI), building on the incredible collaboration and peer learning these communities have fostered. While the Circle won’t be solely focused on regenerative agriculture or sustainability reporting, those topics will be part of a much broader conversation. Together, we’ll explore: 🔹 Target setting in a volatile economy 🔹 Navigating challenges with LCA data 🔹 Climate finance 🔹 Emerging tools and solutions 🔹 Strengthening climate strategy for the long run It’s about creating a trusted space for candid dialogue, shared problem-solving, and accelerating meaningful climate action. Panorama Strategy is honored to have partnered with Climate Resilient Communities (CRC) to co-create their newly released 2026–2028 Strategic Plan — a roadmap for equitable, community-led climate resilience across the Bay Area. 🌿   As climate threats intensify, frontline communities are facing compounding risks — from rising heat and flooding to wildfire smoke and displacement. In early 2025, CRC lost $1.4 million in anticipated federal funding, part of a broader $260 million rollback across California. Yet the need for community-driven climate action has never been greater.   CRC’s work began in East Palo Alto and now spans seven Bay Area communities. Its signature Climate Change Community Teams (CCCTs) bring residents, youth, and local leaders together to design and drive solutions—from installing no-cost rain gardens and air filters to shaping regional climate policy.   This new plan strengthens the infrastructure, culture, and programs that power CRC’s impact. It charts a path to: ➡️ Equip frontline families with the tools to stay safe — from home upgrades and emergency kits to neighborhood disaster-readiness training. ➡️Elevate community voices in climate planning by scaling the Climate Change Community Teams (CCCTs) model across seven Bay Area cities. ➡️Invest in the people who make the work possible through stronger systems, shared leadership, and an equity-centered organizational culture. ➡️Build long-term resilience by doubling annual revenue to $2 million and securing $5 million in new resources to sustain community-driven climate action. The Climate Resilience Fund has announced the Climate Smart Communities Initiative (CSCI) grant opportunity to help small to midsize communities, at any step in the planning process, accelerate their climate resilience projects.  The funding ranges from $75,000 to $115,000 per award and can be used over a 12-month period to advance activities ranging from risk assessments and community engagement to project prioritization and initial implementation. Among the fossil-fuel-sponsored myths is that renewables are bad for the environment (spoiler: it's fossil fuels that are wrecking it), and a lot of resistance to Solar is based on its putative (and largely mythological) negative impacts. It depends how you manage it. You can grow crops between panels, and some of them even do better because they get partial shade and protection from high winds. You can graze sheep. Or you can manage for a level of biodiversity unimaginable on most farmland. A personal hobby horse of mine is that we should be using every solar farm as an opportunity for building flood resilience, with bunds along contour lines, marshland, ponds, haves around the borders...there's such an obvious overlap between biodiversity and flood prevention. We should be seizing these golden opportunities to create oases of huge value to nature and local climate resilience, whilst eliminating the vast harms caused by burning fossil fuels.
