Kroger Just Unlocked the TV and Audio Ad Market for small and medium sized brands. Terence Kawaja had a great line in this session about how agentic advertising is a chance for a do-over from the programmatic era. He was referring to the way ads were made and bought and sold and measured but I also think it’s a chance for a do-over on the ad formats and pricing model. As Rishad Tobaccowala likes to say, the future does not fit into the containers of the past. We may be seeing simple CPM display ads for the time being on ChatGPT but I can guarantee they won’t stay that way. It’s too early to predict the exact shape native AI media ads will take but I think 10 years from now we’ll see $100+ billion spent on ads that weave together text, images, video, AR, VR, and haptics into a personalized experience with pricing that looks more like CPA than any other model we know today.
