Big milestone for us at Hirschbach, we’ve officially completed our migration to Orderful, and it’s a total game-changer. When I joined Hirschbach about 18 months ago, our EDI operations felt a bit like driving a Pinto down the highway, reliable enough to move, but constantly needing attention under the hood. We had a team of four engineers wrangling X12s, dealing with EDI vendor black boxes, and waiting days (sometimes weeks) to make small mapping changes. Today, we're driving a Ferrari. 🏎️ We’ve left the world of X12 complexity behind. No more wrestling with clunky file formats or chasing vendors for updates we can now handle ourselves. All changes are made through a simple, modern web-based interface, quick, intuitive, and completely under our control. What once required four people now takes one. The stability, transparency, and reliability we’ve gained have transformed one of the most critical pipelines in our business. And this is just one of several exciting transformation projects underway at Hirschbach. Some we can talk about…others are still under the hood for now. 😉 But they’re all part of our mission to build the most modern, connected technology ecosystem in transportation. Huge shout-out to Erik Kiser and the Orderful team (John Wiseman, Scott Shields, Cole Hooper, Rahul Cuduvalli Vallish), for being incredible partners through this journey. Ivan Ramirez shared thisOvercoming Adversity Builds a Different Kind of Muscle Last year, my son was at the top of his game. * All-State, First Team All-Region * 65 tackles, led his team in stops * A starter, a leader, a standout But instead of staying where he was comfortable, he chose to push himself. He transferred from a 3A school where he was a star, to a 5A powerhouse that had just gone to the state championship. He wanted to grow, even if it meant stepping onto a tougher stage. Then life threw him a challenge. At an invitational camp, he tore foot ligaments and fractured a bone, sidelined for five months. Surgery. Rehab. Endless doubts. * Did he make the right decision to transfer? * Did leaving his long-time community cause this? * Would he ever get back to the same level? For months, he couldn’t showcase his talent. But in that time, he built a new kind of strength: mental resilience. He learned to keep working when no spotlight was on him. He trained the only way he could, upper body, mindset, perseverance. He learned the value of humility, patience, and the long game. When the season finally came, he wasn’t the “automatic starter” anymore. He had to earn every rep, every play. In his first game back, he didn’t start, but he played 50%+ minutes, gave everything on the field, and proved to himself that he belonged at this higher level. The lesson for me, as a parent and a leader, is clear: * Growth often requires leaving comfort behind. * Adversity isn’t a setback; it’s training for resilience. * And none of us succeed alone, we need people around us who believe in us when our own belief wavers. In business and in life, we will all face moments of doubt, injury, or setback. But those moments are where we build the muscle that matters most, the mental and emotional strength to keep going. I couldn’t be prouder of my son Sebastian. And I’m reminded that the same lessons apply in leadership: stay humble, embrace challenges, lean on your team, and keep moving forward, even when it’s hard. #52 #utah #brightonhighschool

Having experience at high-tech, high-scale companies doesn’t guarantee quick success in transforming a legacy business. In fact, bringing in technologists from outside the industry can be a strength, because the real subject matter expertise lives within the business itself. The key is collaboration and listening. It’s about understanding the business’s challenges and finding ways technology can add real value. Replatforming and modernizing should happen where it truly benefits the business, not just for the sake of change. Ultimately, technology is just one piece of the puzzle. Success comes from having everyone on board, from the executive team to the frontline employees. It’s the trust built in the quiet spaces, the DMs, the group channels, and the mental bookmarks leaders make when they find a perspective that actually challenges their assumptions. What tangible benefits is Hwy Haul AI Agent Mr. Miles delivering for digital freight brokers? Cost savings? 30-40% ✅ Compliance improvement/Risk reduction - 20-30% ✅ Per load margin improvements ✅ Better user experience ✅ As per Ryan Focke General Manager of one of the largest tomato growers and freight brokers in the nation and HwyHaul Customer using their AI Agent Mr. Miles (freight ......miles get it? :-).... “Operationally, the platform reduced manual touches across booking, carrier coordination, and execution workflows by approximately 30–40%, saving an estimated hundreds of hours per week and materially improving speed-to-cover, including during after-hours and peak periods,” From a financial standpoint Focke noted, what he described as “improvements in per load margins driven by better rate execution, fewer carrier fall-offs, and improved compliance” as well as a 20–30% reduction in non-compliant or high-risk carrier interactions, which lowers operational risk and protects downstream service levels. In terms of headcount, the Hwy Haul platform has enabled the Lipman team to handle approximately 1.3–1.5 times more load volume per planner without adding incremental headcount, according to Focke.
