What stood out most was how many people from the cyber industry were there. Walking through the paddock, I kept running into vendors, partners, customers, and friends. Caught up with Kevin Tian and Mike Ferrari from Doppel. Spent time with Joe Kim from Squadra Solutions, our partner and longtime friend. Connected with the Cyera crew. Saw tech partners and customers I’ve worked with for years. It makes sense. F1 is built on speed, strategy, engineering, and execution. Milliseconds matter. Decisions get made fast. The car only goes as far as the team behind it. That’s our world too. Kimi Antonelli took the win for Mercedes. George Kurtz now sits alongside Toto with an ownership stake and CrowdStrike on the livery. I’m a McLaren Racing fan, but it’s hard not to respect how much cyber has shown up in this sport. Cyber has earned its seat in the paddock.

So keeping up with the AppSec news, I wanted to share an update on Mini Shai-Hulud...We used to worry about typosquatting on npm. Now, we have to worry about self-replicating worms. 🐛 The Shai-Hulud campaign in npm marks a significant new change where attackers are no longer just stealing secrets, but using compromised developer accounts to backdoor every other package that developer maintains. This is a force-multiplier for malware, and it's happening at machine scale... Isn't everything these days? So to sum it up identity is the new perimeter. If an attacker gets your npm token, they don't just get your data, they get your reputation and your users' trust. Check out the full analysis in the blog posted in the comments. That conversation quickly translated into what they can tactically do to react now. I turned that into a 120 day transformation plan, that has been very well received by these executives. So I decided to expand that into a whitepaper and share it with everyone - attached.
