Skild AI is now working with NVIDIA to deploy AI systems on factory assembly lines.¹ That stood out to me. It’s one thing to build AI software. It’s another to see it move into the physical world: robotics, manufacturing, real operations. It makes me wonder: How many of today’s AI companies end up with a much broader focus than expected? Haydar Haba reposted thisFusion is moving from breakthrough to build. As Michl Binderbauer shared at CERAWeek, TAE has spent more than 27 years developing the core physics needed for the path to deliver utility-scale fusion power. With Da Vinci, we are now advancing toward site selection and construction. This is what progress looks like.Haydar Haba reposted thisThe momentum for fusion is real. Yesterday, I was honored to join Secretary Ernest J. Moniz and fellow leaders at CERAWeek to talk about what it will take to move fusion from scientific breakthrough to commercial reality. At TAE, our confidence comes from hard evidence. Over 27 years and five successive fusion machines, we have been developing the core physics needed for the path to deploy utility-scale power plants, including the ability to form, heat and stabilize plasma. This technology is protected by deep, multilayered IP, and advanced by a team of more than 400 exceptional engineers and scientists. We are now moving forward with Da Vinci, our first commercial-scale fusion power plant, expecting to complete power plant site selection in 2026 and targeting 50 MW of electricity in the early 2030s. They may change with new discoveries or shifts in global energy consumption. What does this map mean? Countries with larger reserves have more time to maintain their role in the energy market. Conversely, countries with limited reserves need to accelerate the diversification of their economies and invest in alternative energy sources. The global shift towards clean energy may significantly alter this equation in the coming decades. Conclusion: Oil is no longer just an economic resource, but a strategic factor shaping the future. The most important question is: Who will be well-prepared for the post-oil era?

AI and Tokenization unlocks new business models. At Decasonic, we have been seeking investment opportunities at the intersection of AI x RWA. Our investment thesis: Exponential technologies like AI and Web3 converge to build entirely new markets. These new use cases bring the digital world to the Real World Assets (RWA), enabling programmability, composability and liquidity that are native to digital code. The Dune x RWA.xyz RWA Report 2025 (attached) highlights how tokenized U.S. Treasuries alone have reached $7.3B in market size, an 85% YoY growth just this year. This is just one signal of how quickly tokenization is scaling across treasuries, credit, equities and other assets. We believe AI will accelerate this adoption and unlock entirely new business models. Here are three areas where we see Web3 tokens and AI mutually flourish: 1️⃣ New Business Models for AI Creations, AI Agents and AI Digital Twins AI agents, digital twins, and generative models are producing novel assets daily. Tokenization provides identity, ownership, and monetization rails, allowing creators and enterprises to build sustainable business models around AI native output. 2️⃣ Proof of Work and Proof of Personhood In an age of infinite AI content, trust becomes scarce. Tokenized attestations validate that work was produced by a verified human or an authenticated AI agent. This secures reputation and enables trust driven marketplaces. 3️⃣ Data Provenance for AI Models are only as good as the real and synthetic data they ingest. Tokenization provides a cryptographic ledger for data lineage, ensuring verifiable provenance, aligned incentives, and compliance for enterprises and regulators. The big idea: AI creates exponential output while tokenization ensures that output is verifiable, ownable, and monetizable. Together, they enable an entirely new layer of the global digital economy. The convergence of AI and tokenization is not just infrastructure. It is the foundation for the next generation of business models, from AI native enterprises to institutional grade financial systems.

As AI workloads eat up global computing supply, DRAM prices are surging like never before—creating major challenges for teams trying to plan out their data center spend. One of my portfolio companies, Mext, is addressing the largest cost component in the datacenter: server memory (DRAM). From being on the board of Redis for the last twelve years, I’ve learned a lot about the various aspects of this problem and approaches to solving them. Mext found a breakthrough, using new AI techniques, for dramatically reducing the amount of server-DRAM required to run applications, all while maintaining performance. It intelligently manages the server’s memory, keeping hot pages (i.e., those in use by applications) in fast DRAM and offloading cold pages (i.e., those less used) to a much less expensive memory tier (e.g., NVMe Flash). Key to the approach is ensuring cold memory pages that are about to be accessed by an application are back in DRAM before the application needs them or notices that they were gone. This is done without modifications to the application or the OS – so it can run in the cloud or on-premise. Mext thus allows applications to either run using less DRAM or keep their DRAM footprint but do more with it. They're hosting a webinar along with Fred Weber (former CTO of AMD) on Jan 22nd at 10am pacific time. You can register here: https://lnkd.in/gXe9GCeE

Most Operators Still Treat ARR Like a Monolith But not all ARR is created equal. Some ARR is sticky, compounding, and margin-rich. Other ARR is flashy until it vanishes. Modern operators ask: → Where does each dollar live on the margin-retention map? → What’s expanding vs. eroding? → Is our revenue mix actually compounding? The best teams manage ARR like an asset portfolio. Do you?

Economic policy and digital infrastructure policy are converging — and I'm glad to have a seat at that table. As AI reshapes the economy, data centers are the physical backbone of that shift. Policy decisions around grid reliability, power markets, siting, and transmission buildout will determine whether growth is sustainable or chaotic. I'll be on a panel at the National Association for Business Economics (NABE) Policy Conference exploring how policymakers, utilities, and the private sector can navigate load growth, infrastructure timelines, and market design. I'm excited to be in conversation with Jacob F. (Office of Governor Josh Shapiro), Shane Londagin (Office of U.S. Senator John Hickenlooper), and Shawn DuBravac, Avrio Institute. Thanks to Ellen Hughes-Cromwick for the invitation, and to Caitlin McLiverty (Patrick) and the NABE team for putting this together. If you'll be there, let's find time to connect! #EnergyPolicy #AIPolicy #DataCenters #GridReliability #NABE

🔍 Exploring the Intersection of AI, Debt, and Data Centers In the latest edition of The Powerloom, we delve into the emerging challenges within the trillion-dollar data center buildout. The article "AI, Debt, and Data Centers" uncovers the first signs of strain in financing these massive infrastructures. Last week, Blue Owl Capital faced a significant hurdle when lenders passed on syndicating $4 billion in debt for a CoreWeave data center in Lancaster, PA. This decision marks a pivotal moment, as the same firm also halted quarterly redemptions from a retail private credit fund and began an "orderly liquidation" of the fund. These moves underscore the complexities of balancing retail liquidity with the long-term capital needs of AI. The ripple effects were immediate - CoreWeave's stock dropped 12% the following day. This situation highlights the growing pains of the AI sector as it navigates the intricate landscape of financing and liquidity. Stay informed on how these developments could impact the future of AI and data centers.
