Jack Hollis shared thisPlease watch/listen to Karl’s insights and passion. SO inspiring and confirming! Key word for me…”DAILY”. Enjoy!!Jack Hollis shared thisWhen everything feels urgent, quiet time alone is often the first thing people cut. Especially leaders. The tyranny of the urgent, the pervasiveness of the noise, the sheer volume of demands, and distractions, and distress is overwhelming. So, we buckle down, brace for crisis mode, and do our best to fight off the onslaught. All the while neglecting the solitude and silence our souls need to reset themselves. It is the leaders who are Brave enough to walk a totally different way—to operate in a different mode—to confront themselves in the Cave before they step out to face the world—that find they are more prepared to deal with chaos and crisis than their peers. When you press pause, take time to listen to your soul and center yourself every morning, and refuse to break the habit no matter how busy life gets, you will emerge with the clarity you need to cut the forms of busy that are not actually serving your purpose. You will know what a win actually looks like. You’ll stop trying to succeed in games you aren’t even interested in playing. You’ll be able to communicate clearly and help those you lead identify what’s actually important. From one simple habit—your time alone in the leadership space I call “The Cave”—you will cultivate the self-knowledge you need to live a life that True to your values, your purpose, and your soul. It’s remarkable how uncluttered and focused your days get after that. Today, I’ve released an article about the broken mindsets high-performers must unlearn when they take on leadership positions. Jack Hollis shared thisOur Stanford University “family” gathered Tuesday to honor the incredible life of “9”… legendary Stanford baseball coach, Mark Marquess. His life was marked by the consistency and integrity of his words and actions, both on and off the field. The 1-on-1’s we shared as a player and then alum were always genuine and about “life” not just baseball. I SO appreciated his desire to push me as a man beyond a ball-player. Thank you for the Championship, 9! “Men, you are either early or late, there is no on-time” - MM9

Thanks to Steve Maritz , Terry Erwin and Joel Barone for inviting me to attend and participate. The future of this amazing industry is STILL all about relationships. People first and that all starts with Courageous and Kind leaders! It is up to you…YOU are the project! Let’s gooooo!!!!!

Jack Hollis shared thisNo need to “defend yourself.” Listen well. Consider. Be humble. Take the 1% (kernel of truth) with you and spit out the rest. Let’s goooo!!!!Jack Hollis shared thisYour critics can be your collaborators on the project that is YOU. You don’t have to like or agree with everything they say. In fact, you don’t have to agree with MOST of what they say. But the best leaders hunt every opportunity for growth they can find, no matter where it comes from. And in every critique, there lies an opportunity. I use a simple tool called the 1% Rule for this: Find the 1% that’s true; leave the rest behind. It’s that simple. Defensiveness will paralyze and stagnate you, all while taking the bait your critics have set for you. They want you to react. Instead, be grateful, mine their words for the 1% of useful information, and move forward. Even selfish or baseless criticism carries something useful, If you’re willing to look for it. Take what’s helpful. Drop what isn’t. And thank them for their service. What criticism are you holding onto right now? What do you need to let go of? #leadership #growth #critics #arable

Jack Hollis posted thisPenske Automotive Group ACQUIRES Longo Toyota, Longo Lexus, Lexus Stevens Creek, Longo Toyota of Prosper. As announced by Automotive News, Penske Automotive Group purchased the four stores for $519.4M, including $47.7M for the estimated net worth of Penske Motor Group, deploying $363.6M in cash. Penske Auto Group’s acquisition of Longo Toyota, Longo Lexus, Lexus Stevens Creek, and Longo Toyota of Prosper is a pivotal industry bellwether. It underscores the scarcity and premium valuation multiples commanded by blue-chip Toyota and Lexus franchises. The scale and Net Income potential of these elite assets prove that quality and leverage FAR outweigh the quantity of rooftops. This move also highlights the competitive race among large groups to secure irreplaceable, top-tier franchises. Looking ahead, this sets a clear tone for 2026: disciplined buyers will continue paying premiums for the highest-performing assets, while strong smaller groups.... especially those under 10 rooftops, face a highly favorable market to either scale or pursue liquidity. This transaction is a perfect illustration of the strategic clarity and long-term wisdom that Roger Penske brings to the automotive industry, and the meaningful value his leadership continues to deliver for Penske Auto Group’s shareholders. I am SO excited for Roger, Greg, the team and PAG’s shareholders. Celebrating this milestone with you! Let's goooo!!!

Jack Hollis shared thisHonored to have spoken at the CEO Summit: Networking the Nations — a 3-day gathering of students, international leaders, CEO’s, founders, managing partners, athletes, politicians, C-Suite executives and more. I had the privilege of sharing on Leadership and Principled Decision-Making, asking the question: “Who do you truly work for?”. For me, the answer is simple — I work for God. It was an honor to share the stage with incredible leaders such as Former UK Prime Minister Liz Truss, General Michael Flynn, Ken Eldred, and Former Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger. I was especially inspired by the Liberty University students at the Future CEO Luncheon, some of the brightest, kindest, and most driven young leaders I’ve met. Grateful and humbled to be part of such an impactful event. Let’s go!!!

Jack Hollis liked thisJack Hollis liked thisYou got promoted because you were excellent at your job. But the skills that made you a great performer (speed, conviction, the ability to just get things done) are not the qualities that make you a healthy leader. Organizational leaders hand high performers a team and assume their talent will translate. Unfortunately, it rarely does. Not because high performers can't lead, but because high performance at a certain skillset is not what makes a great leader. If you are making the transition to a leadership role, it's not just about the qualities you cultivate; it's also about the negative qualities you must eliminate to make room for them. I've written about some of these on Substack. Find the article here: https://lnkd.in/eFSAjBcy What's the one thing you wish you'd unlearned sooner in your leadership development?

Jack Hollis liked thisJack Hollis liked thisThe Retention Gap begins at Minute 61 At Stevens Creek Toyota, we are obsessed with a single number: 66.7%. That is the percentage of our ToyotaCare guests who were back on the road in under 60 minutes this April. While that's a world-class benchmark, I’m more concerned with the other 33.3%. The Reality of 2026: Complimentary service isn't just a perk; it’s a two-year audition. If we can’t respect a guest's time when the maintenance is free, why would they ever pay us for it once their ToyotaCare expires? Loyalty isn't built on a handshake anymore—it’s built on Time. How we are using a "Human + AI" Shield to protect that hour: AI-Enhanced Monitoring: We aren't just using cameras to watch the drive; we’re using AI to track every VIN's "dwell time" in real-time. From the moment a tire hits the lot to the moment the service is done, the system is counting. The 45-Minute "Virtual Tap": We are implementing software to show us If a customer hasn't moved by 45-minute mark, our management team gets an automated alert. We act before the customer even thinks to look at their watch. Human-Led Intervention: AI finds the friction, but my managers solve it. Whether it’s a "Tuesday Afternoon" process leak or a parts handoff delay, we use data to pivot instantly. My Take: 66.7% is a strong indicator of efficiency, but in a high-interest, high-competition market, "Good Enough" is the enemy of Growth. We are closing the gap between "free service" and "lifetime loyalty" one minute at a time. Are you managing your drive by the CSI report in your rearview mirror, or are you monitoring your guest experience in real-time? Let’s talk about the future of Fixed Ops in the comments. 👇 #ToyotaCare #GuestExperience #FixedOps #AIinAuto #OperationalPrecision #StevensCreekToyota #CustomerLoyalty #2026Leadership #Toyota

The growing tension between Volkswagen and its U.S dealers over VW Group’s controversial plan to sell Scout Motors vehicles directly to consumers reached a new boiling point this week during a meeting on the eve of the NADA Show, with some dealers leaving frustrated and stonewalled. Dealers also remain concerned after VW‘s U.S. sales skidded three straight quarters amid headwinds that include a disappointing ID Buzz launch, the high cost of U.S. tariffs and the lack of a hybrid. The Dealer Principal Summit on Feb. 2 was held for retailers or executive managers only, according to dealers who attended. Direction Matters More Than Activity Busy dealerships don’t always build better results. More bids. More conversations. More movement. It can feel like progress — until margin tightens and inventory slows. Strong operators focus on direction, not just effort. They buy with intention, pass with confidence, and build inventory that performs. At Unique Auto Sourcing, we help dealers bring clarity to the buy side so every decision moves the business forward. Because growth isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing what works. #BuySideStrategy #DealerLeadership #InventoryDiscipline #UniqueAutoSourcing

PRESS RELEASE...(partial) FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Mobile Service Alliance Launches to Advance the Adoption of Dealership Mobile Service Nationwide HOUSTON, Texas — March 15, 2026 — The Mobile Service Alliance officially launched today as a new industry initiative dedicated to accelerating the adoption and advancement of dealership mobile service across the retail automotive sector. Formed in response to changing consumer expectations and the growing need for more flexible service delivery, the Mobile Service Alliance aims to help franchised dealerships more effectively implement, market, and integrate mobile service into the overall dealership experience. The Alliance is founded on a central belief: mobile service is the most transformational addition available to the dealership service offer today. By enabling maintenance and repair to be performed at the customer’s home, office, or other preferred location, mobile service gives dealerships a more powerful way to improve convenience, strengthen retention, and compete more effectively for post-warranty service business. “Mobile service represents a major opportunity for retail automotive,” said Founder, Roger Conant, Mobile Service Alliance. “Dealers have long faced the challenge of retaining customers after the initial sale and after factory warranty periods expire. Mobile service gives the industry a practical, scalable way to respond to how customers increasingly want to be served.” The Mobile Service Alliance launches with four founding pillars: The Alliance will work to expand awareness of mobile service as a strategic priority and encourage broader dealership participation nationwide. The Alliance will work to expand awareness of mobile service as a strategic priority and encourage broader dealership participation nationwide. Improve consumer advertising and marketing for mobile service The Alliance will help identify and share more effective ways to communicate the value, credibility, and practical benefits of mobile service to consumers. Integrate mobile service into sales and F&I processes The Alliance will promote mobile service as part of the dealership’s broader ownership proposition, helping support “why buy here” messaging and long-term retention efforts. Position service as a starting point for commercial growth The Alliance will also highlight the role mobile service can play in supporting dealership commercial and fleet development by using service capability as an entry point to business relationships. What happens when the guy at the top decides there’s more to life than sales quotas and job titles? Eric Mech walked away from a 24-year automotive career, hundreds of millions in deals, and business ownership, all to chase something deeper: purpose. Now, as Head Coach at The Purpose Company, Eric helps leaders find what actually matters, not just what looks good on paper. He’s turned his experience into daily motivation for men, showing that real leadership starts with honest conversations, morning mindset, and daring to ask: “What’s next?” If you’re looking for a real accountability partner, and you’re done pretending external success is enough, watch what Eric’s building. He’s not just changing careers. He’s changing how men show up for their lives. This is what daily morning motivation looks like when you stop settling. Thanks, Dan Capello, for nominating Eric in our community corner creator spotlight segment.
