Itai Dadon shared thisJust in case you missed the fact that the REV8 family of sensors all meet functional safety standards. This opens the door to a vast array of applications and use cases for Ouster ! Contact me or any of our trusted premium partners if you have any questions 🎉Itai Dadon shared thisREV8 combines two incredible efforts into a single launch: native color and functional safety. The team at Ouster pushed incredibly hard for three years to bring a genuinely novel native color technology to market with REV8. We developed all new silicon in the process - L4 and L4 MAX. At the same time, we re-engineered the entire family to an insane level of reliability and fault tolerance so that REV8 will meet ASIL-B, SIL-2, and PLd functional safety requirements. Every component redesigned. Every piece of firmware re-written. And we conducted a massive test/validation campaign that spanned years to ensure REV8 builds on the reputation for rugged, reliable, and performant sensors that REV7 established. Every bit of hype is merited: https://lnkd.in/ghJ6yH8K #ouster #lidar #REV8Ouster REV8: Lidar Colorized, Ruggedized, MaximizedOuster REV8: Lidar Colorized, Ruggedized, Maximized

Itai Dadon shared thisLidar technology has often been viewed as opposing cameras, leading to a perception that the industry must choose between being pro-lidar or against it. However, what if you didn’t have to make that choice anymore? Imagine a unique sensor that delivers 48-bit color alongside a 10 million points per second 3D point cloud. This innovative solution combines color and point cloud data from the same chip, eliminating the need for calibration or synchronization between separate sensors. With Ouster's new revolutionary REV8 sensor family, the dilemma of choosing between technologies is a thing of the past. Reach out to me or visit our website www.ouster.com for more information!

Itai Dadon posted thisToday, after 843 days I finally removed the Bring Them Home pin 🎗️from my profile. The body of Ran Gvili, the last hostage was finally returned home for burial. Ran, may his memory be a blessing to all of us was a real hero and saved many lives in October 7th before he got hurt and was killed by the terrorists and his body kidnapped. The tenacity of the people of Israel to fight to the return of all the 255 people that were kidnapped on that horrible day is hard to explain. This drive and commitment to a mission is a value that I find admirable and always try to apply also in my professional career. Never give up. Never think that something is impossible. The return of Rani is a proof that when there is a will - there is a way. Have a wonderful week!

Itai Dadon liked thisItai Dadon liked thisOne part I especially love about my job is that I get to witness technology advancements from a front-row seat. I love seeing new humanoids, great AI-enabled robotic arms and so on. Today it's time for a small revolution in lidars - Ouster announced REV8 sensors. Why would I call it a revolution and not just the next iteration? Well, here are some key specs that matter: ⏩ native RGB data - in many applications you won't need to combine lidar with a camera, it's an all-in-one now! ⏩256 channel version - doubling what was possible until now ⏩functional safety capabilities (ASIL-B, SIL-2, PLd) - this opens doors to so many new applications! ⏩2x improvement in both precision and accuracy compared to Rev7 ⏩even wider temperature range: -40°C to +85°C Those are not only specs. They open completely new markets for 3D lidars (high fidelity mapping, industrial vehicles) and dramatically reduce complexity in existing ones (lidar+camera combos). I'm excited to see what's next!

Itai Dadon liked thisItai Dadon liked thisAn invisible but massive technology step forward is coming in our Draper software release. X10 will now use an in-house GNSS (GPS) solver. We’ll still use the same GPS hardware, but now the math and algorithms that use satellite signals to determine the robot's location are written and controlled by Skydio. There is a mountain of math and magic that goes into these solvers, and basically all drones just use the solvers that come with the receivers because of the enormous complexity involved. But by writing our own algorithms, we can fuse the GPS signals with other data sources - like our visual estimation system and a deep learning-generated computer vision segmentation mask that tells us which satellites are occluded by buildings or trees - to get better accuracy and robustness, and make our products that much more capable and reliable. “Always just works” is the goal, and there is a deep sea of technology and a long tail of vertical integration it takes to make that happen. Congratulations to the (tiny) elite team at Skydio that pulled this off.

“…the LIDAR that interested me the most was that of Innoviz, an Israeli brand I’ve seen before (and have a small bit of stock in.) Innoviz will be the LIDAR in most Mobileye based self-driving designs, replacing Mobileye’s own plans for an in-house LIDAR. The point clouds from the new Innoviz were the most impressive I’ve seen from a 905nm band device. LIDARs today either come from that near-infrared band, or from the deeper 1500nm band.” Innoviz Technologies https://lnkd.in/dDf_kHQq

mmWave packaging sits at the intersection of RF, materials, mechanics, and manufacturing. It is how we house and interconnect mmWave ICs, antennas, and passives so the system meets performance, reliability, cost, and size. Why it is complex: - Millimeter wavelengths mean tiny geometry errors cause phase shift and loss - Parasitics from bumps, RDL, and vias dominate S-parameters - Materials matter - loss tangent, CTE mismatch, and surface roughness detune arrays - Antenna in package, shielding, and coupling control are tightly linked - High power density with limited heat paths - Production test and calibration from 24 to 100+ GHz are nontrivial - Warpage and mold flow can move critical alignments What works: - Low loss dielectrics and smooth copper - IC-package-antenna co-design with full EM - Short interconnects via flip chip, fan-out, or glass - Early DfM and variation modeling - Robust over-the-air test strategies Get packaging right and the RF will follow.

📡 One simple RF truth: NF < 1 dB doesn’t make strong signals better — it makes weak signals usable. In the real world, networks don’t fail in perfect conditions. They fail at the edges — far from the tower, behind walls, in rural areas, or under interference. That’s why customers focused on: ✅ wider coverage ✅ more reliable connections ✅ fewer dropped links ✅ better performance in hard-to-reach areas choose sub-1 dB noise figure front-end devices, even at a premium. Low-noise solutions — like Guerrilla RF’s sub-1 dB NF LNAs (e.g., GRF4142) — help systems hear signals that others miss. Because better RF isn’t about making loud signals louder. It’s about making quiet signals count. #Wireless #Connectivity #NetworkReliability #5G #IoT #Defense #Satcom #RuralBroadband #GuerrillaRF

The AI Infrastructure Gigacycle: A Primer for 2026 My latest report via our new newsletter, The Dilligence Stack. The global semiconductor market is on track to reach $975 billion in 2027—within striking distance of the $1 trillion milestone originally anticipated for 2030. The sheer upside of this statistic seems only limited by fundamental constraints in the supply chain. This is an unprecedented moment in the semiconductor industry. One where countless conversations we have had with executives have yielded essentially the same comment/sentiment: “I’ve never seen anything like this in my 30-40-year career in this industry.” https://lnkd.in/gnXeE52i
