Jake Moross reposted thisJake Moross reposted this3/15 filings are around the corner. Do you own commercial property purchased in 2025? You may qualify for 100% bonus depreciation this year. That means a significant first-year deduction instead of waiting 39 years. Most providers will tell you it’s too late. It isn’t. We can still complete a Cost Segregation study in time for filing on 3/15. If you want to understand what your property could generate before you submit your return, message me now.

Jake Moross reposted thisA scared shitless competitor launched a smear campaign against us, right as we were raising our Series B. My investors asked if I was worried. Are you kidding? That's validation. These PR firm smear campaigns don't come cheap. You're talking 6-7 figures. They are burning those kind of resources because a significant portion of their customers have transferred to Onshore, and they have no other play. Meanwhile, guess how much of my mental capacity I spend thinking about what they're doing? I'll give you a hint, it rhymes with hero. When someone attacks you that hard, they're confirming you're winning. Oh yeah, and we close our Series B with multiple competitive offers. The story we raised on? Replace the full-service accounting firm with AI.

Jake Moross reposted thisTwo announcements today: A $31M Series B. And a new name: Onshore. SPRX is now Onshore. The name is deliberate. Tax shouldn't feel abstract or outsourced. It should be accountable and grounded in evidence. Here's why we're building this: More than $200B in tax incentives go unclaimed every year. A manufacturer in Ohio leaves millions on the table because their CPA firm stitches together data by hand. An engineering firm in Texas skips R&D credits because the study takes too long to be worth it. The industry rewards time spent, not outcomes delivered. We set out to replace that model entirely. Onshore is the AI-native platform for tax. Not a tech-enabled service, not a better spreadsheet, not more accountants. 500+ companies have trusted us to identify and defend over $600M+ in incentives. Results that speak for themselves. This Series B, led by FPV Ventures with Vertex Ventures US, Restive Ventures, Pruven Capital, Counterpart Ventures, NextEquity Partners and Y Combinator, lets us keep rebuilding the foundation of corporate tax. Starting with credits and incentives, expanding into every workflow the industry still does by hand. Grateful to Wesley Chan, Pegah Ebrahimi & the FPV team; Sandeep Bhadra & Vertex Ventures; Ryan Falvey & Restive Ventures; Jared Moberg, Travis Skelly & the PruVen team; Patrick Eggen & the Counterpart team; Alok Pandey & the NextEquity team; Tom Blomfield & our partners at YC. We're just getting started. Read more in the comments!

Jake Moross reposted thisNew record! A full R&D tax study in one day. A client’s CFO was operating under the assumption that their amended return was due January 15. That’s the date they gave us. Then one of the analysts on my team calls and says: “We've got a problem. It's due December 15.” Which was tomorrow. We pulled the return and confirmed it. The deadline everyone thought was weeks away was suddenly one day away. By the time we realized what we were dealing with, the data had just been recieved and no one had even looked at it yet. But they still needed it done. Their CFO asked if there was any way we could finish the study and get it postmarked in time. Well, normally that’s where the conversation ends. Most teams wouldn’t touch something like this. Instead, I thought it would be a cool fire drill. I called engineering and everyone jumped in. Between boarding my flight in Chicago and landing in New York, the study was finished. I landed, reviewed it, pulled in tax, and we got it out the door the same day. AI is what made this timeline possible. No traditional accounting firm would have even tried to make it work.

Jake Moross reposted thisJake Moross reposted thisLinkedIn was designed with this kind of post in mind! Please read and bump. My daughter Meg Cashel and her husband Tyler Bremer have been professional actors in LA for the last 10 years. IMDB.me/megcashel and IMDB.me/tylerbremer They are looking to augment their acting incomes by getting into remote tech sales. In addition to her acting Meg has been successful in the past with ad sales and has worked for the last four years with a large private real estate company in LA helping them with property management and leasing. Tyler has for the last three years been working for a big lighting company called Creamsource. They both want a more stable platform with health care benefits because Meg & Tyler are having their first baby in March of 2026, and remote work coupled with a solid healthcare plan would be ideal in their new paradigm. I know I am biased, but they are smart, can memorize any script, and can sell bark to a tree! Being actors, they are not afraid of rejection! Please reach out to Meg or Tyler directly on LinkedIn if you have any ideas. https://lnkd.in/g7XA5GHP https://lnkd.in/gYJ9xuKn Many thanks! #techsales #remote #megcashel #tylerbremer

Jake Moross reposted thisNo, our AI isn’t blindly filing tax returns (something a disgruntled competitor accused us of). Thanks for the concern. It’s wild this even needs to be clarified, but here we are. Our process isn’t “click button, submit to IRS.” It’s built for speed and scrutiny. ◼️ Data comes in. ◼️ The model runs a full analysis (what used to take THEIR team 270 hours now takes minutes). ◼️ Human experts step in immediately. They check the output. Sanity check, smell test, edge-case review. ◼️ Clients review it alongside us. Iterative, collaborative, no black box. ◼️ Tax lawyers review model outputs. If something looks off, the system flags it and legal dives in. Reports aren’t filed blindly. That would be reckless and frankly, dumb. We're getting to the same quality bar as traditional firms but in days, not months. And without a bloated army of hourly billers dragging it out on purpose.

Jake Moross shared thisI'm excited to share that SPRX is looking for Business Development Associates to join our growing team! If you're interested in business development as a career, are curious about business strategy and financial incentives, and want to be part of a fast-moving, tech-powered consulting firm — this could be a great fit. In this role, you'll: ✅ Work directly with business owners and execs ✅ Learn how to identify real growth opportunities ✅ Gain hands-on sales and financial experience ✅ Be part of a collaborative and ambitious team We value curiosity, coach-ability, and communication over “traditional” sales experience — if you're smart, driven, and ready to learn, we want to talk to you.

The founders who seem to have it together have just made peace with that

Jake Moross liked thisThe origin story of this fundraise starts a few months back with Sandeep Bhadra from Vertex. He was on our board and led our Series A. We were just catching up, and I mentioned almost casually that we might raise sometime in the next year as the business was really starting to scale. Sandeep stopped me and said, “You guys are scaling fast. There’s nobody better at this stage than Wesley Chan.” I didn’t even know Wes at the time, but I trust Sandeep, so he made the introduction and Wes and I jumped on a Zoom. We talked for about an hour. It wasn’t a formal pitch, it was more just philosophy, what we were building, and how we thought about doing it. After that, Wes said, “You should meet my partner, Pegah Ebrahimi.” Same thing with her. It wasn’t transactional, just a really thoughtful conversation about the business and what could be possible. Then things started to heat up. We were getting outside interest, even a preemptive Series B offer, so I went back to Wes and told him, “This is moving quickly.” And he was like, “If you want to raise, why don’t we just do it?” Pegah happened to be in San Francisco, so we met on Memorial Day. She texted that her kids were out of school, so we grabbed coffee nearby and ended up spending the afternoon talking. What really stood out to me was how quickly Wes and Pegah understood the business. I explained what we do in a couple minutes, and Wes just nodded and said, “Oh yeah, that makes sense.” And as we kept talking, it became clear they really understood what we were building and were excited to support it. These guys make decisions at the speed that I love, and I'm really excited to have them as partners.

Big congratulations to Dominic Vitucci and the entire team on this milestone. We, at DECACORN are proud to be in your corner as you define the next era of the industry! The future belongs to those who use technology to drive productivity and growth simultaneously. By moving to an outcomes-owned model, 𝐎𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐞 is ensuring that human expertise isn't just 'in the loop' for compliance, but 'humans in the lead’, driving the strategy that turns the impossible into the achievable.

📊 Connecticut Hiring Trends – What We're Seeing in May 2025 As someone involved in the staffing space here in Connecticut, I wanted to share a quick snapshot of the trends we’re watching closely this spring: ✅ Job Growth vs. Talent Gaps: With 73,000+ open jobs and low unemployment (3.0%), companies are competing hard for skilled talent. 🏥 Healthcare is hurting: Workforce shortages continue to strain hospitals and providers — we’re seeing rising demand for nurses, allied health, and support staff. 🏭 Manufacturing is hiring: CNC machinists, robotics techs, and QA roles are hot, but many employers are struggling to find qualified candidates. 🧠 Skills-based hiring is accelerating: More companies are rethinking degree requirements and focusing on technical competencies and soft skills. 🤖 AI is changing the game: From recruitment automation to analytics, hiring is becoming faster and more data-driven. 💡 Retention is the new recruitment: Flexible schedules, wellness initiatives, and mental health support are no longer perks — they’re expected. At Randstad, we’re working daily with employers across CT to help them adapt to these shifts — whether it’s building a more agile workforce or rethinking how they hire. If you’re navigating similar challenges, let’s connect. #Staffing #ConnecticutJobs #WorkforceTrends #Hiring2025 #RecruitmentStrategy #CTWorkforce #SkillsGap

REDUCING TIME-TO-HIRE IN THE NYC/NJ MARKET-Organizations navigating the highly competitive NYC/NJ region know that securing the right candidate swiftly can make the difference between stagnation and growth. Winston Staffing, a longstanding full-service staffing and recruitment firm, recognizes how crucial it is to keep the hiring process moving. When a role in Accounting, Banking, Construction, Healthcare, Human Resources, or other dynamic sectors goes unfilled for too long, teams strain under the workload, productivity falters, and morale can wane.
