NEW: NY’s OCM has decided to transition to Metrc for their seed-to-sale tracking system. This comes after the partnership between Metrc and BioTrack, BioTrack of course was the tech company initially given the seed-to-sale contract in New York. Things to keep in mind as per https://lnkd.in/g_gunAbG: • Licensees who were sending data via the BioTrack NY STS API can now stop. • All licensees are still required to maintain an electronic, real-time inventory tracking system. • Metrc UIDs will cost $0.10, and any BioTrack tags previously purchased will be credited. • Third-party integrators will not be charged to transition from BioTrack’s API to Metrc’s API. • Labs will send testing data to Metrc under the new system. • Until Metrc goes live, transfers must use paper manifests, and licensees should keep historical data in their own systems. • OCM and Metrc will provide updates on API access, sandbox testing, training, and tags in the coming months. • Operators are advised to continue to submit inventory/sales reports to the Office via the portal. • They are aiming to help operators go live with Metrc in early 2026 Distru is a validated third party software integrator with BioTrack in NY, and we are committed to working with Metrc as OCM figures out what next steps are in the coming months. #NYCannabis #Metrc #SeedToSale #Compliance #CannabisTech #Distru

Just read a piece from the team at Camber Creek portfolio company Proof on the evolving state of authentication…and it hit home. For years I’ve been thinking “passwords are dead,” but also lamenting the difficulty navigating the labyrinthine world of advanced security. This blog lays out exactly what’s replacing passwords in a way that’s practical, not just theoretical. Five methods stood out: - App-based authenticators finally killing SMS (good riddance, SIM-swap nightmares) - Continuous authentication that watches behavior during the session (the “someone stole the cookie but can’t act like you” protection we’ve all been missing) - Adaptive authentication that doesn’t treat grandma on her usual iPad the same as a login from a Tor exit node in a new country - MFA done right (and then taken further with verified digital certificates) - Biometrics with actual liveness + document tying, so it’s not just “a face” but your verified face What really resonated was the reminder that the strongest systems aren’t about piling on more factors; they’re about using the right factor at the right moment. Risk-based, context-aware, and (crucially) user-respecting. I’m biased but Proof’s angle of anchoring everything to high-assurance digital certificates feels like the missing glue. It’s one thing to authenticate someone at login; it’s another to carry that verified identity forward through the entire session, signature, or transaction. This one is worth the read. 🚀 Meet PACT, simplifying SBA-backed acquisitions with investors. Think YC’s SAFE, but built for Main Street M&A. 📘 What is PACT and why we built it PACT (Partnership Acquisition Commonsense Terms) is a free, balanced starting point for the agreements used in SBA-backed acquisitions with outside investors. For too long, SBA-backed acquisitions with outside investors have been the wild west: every deal is different, inefficient, and confusing, especially for first-time searchers raising capital. PACT gives everyone a common baseline so reviews are faster, expectations are clear, and operators can focus on acquiring the business. 🧩 SAFE for ETA Y Combinator’s SAFE gave startups a shared template that made early investing easier to execute. PACT brings that same idea to ETA. It teaches the key concepts in plain English, aligns searchers and investors on the economics, and sets a fair place to start. Founders are often optimistic about growth. Sometimes, that confidence leads to funding ideas that don't fully pan out.
