Jay Z. shared thisGPS was designed 50 years ago, and the world has outgrown it. Signals are weak, unencrypted, easily jammed. American farmers literally use Russian and Chinese satellites because GPS isn't enough. I’m excited to partner with Mark Scheinberg and the Mohari Ventures team to lead the $170M Series C round in Xona. Having incubated Swarm Technologies (acq. by SpaceX) at Social Capital and followed the satellite market for over a decade, I believe Brian Manning, Tyler Reid and the team at Xona are solving GPS with the urgency, speed, and scale that space infrastructure demands. Xona's Pulsar satellites fly 20 times closer to Earth and deliver signals 100 times stronger, bringing centimeter accuracy with no new hardware required. Glad to once again partner with Sky Dayton on this one. Using a novel nanomedicine technology originally developed at Johns Hopkins University, this approach enables direct measurement of target engagement in the brain via PET imaging before treatment—using the same nanomedicine. This work represents a first-in-class radio-theragnostic platform for neurological disease. Huge thanks to the Stanford team (Reneesme Koo, Michelle L. Jay Z. reposted thisThrilled to announce the launch of KRAKacquisition Corp. (KRAQU)—a Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC) we've formed as a partnership between Natural Capital, Kraken, and Tribe Capital, where I serve as CEO. History shows that speculation often sparks real, lasting innovation. Think Dutch East India Company shares: dismissed as risky bets, but they birthed modern equity markets. Or 19th-century grain price swings that led to commodity futures and institutions like the Chicago Board of Trade. Even junk bonds in the '80s—widely criticized—opened up capital to midsize companies previously locked out. We're witnessing the same dynamic today in digital assets. Over $240 billion in private investment since 2016 has driven genuine progress. Fast-forward: 650M+ users, years of trading speculation spawning innovations that are solidifying into the backbone of a new financial world. We see a strong pipeline of companies ready for the public markets, especially those crafting the core infrastructure of the digital asset economy—payments, tokenization, blockchain, compliance solutions—bridging decentralized finance (DeFi) and traditional finance (TradFi). Drawing on our combined deep operating expertise, differentiated sourcing, and public market experience, we aim to be the partner of choice for teams seeking to scale and unlock long-term value. I'm excited to be partnering with Robert Moore, VP of Strategy and Corporate Development at Kraken, and Boris Revsin, CEO of Tribe Capital, alongside our accomplished independent directors: Andrew Artz (founder of Dark Arts Capital), Ben Davenport (co-founder of BitGo), Josh Rosenthal (GP at Polychain Capital), and Nikita (Sachdev) Lord (founder of Luna PR). With a pipeline of HDTs (hydroxyl dendrimer therapeutics) called Tamrada™️ that comprise various radiopharmaceuticals Lu-177, Ac-225 etc, we have pre-clinical studies completed in seven different cancer types from Triple Negative Breast Cancer to PSMA Negative Prostrate Cancer. We're seeing tumor regression without the need for any additional therapy. Mechanism of Action? 🎥👇

Abbott's HIV drug, Ritonavir, (which was already on pharmacy shelves) spontaneously began crystallizing into a new, less soluble form, and the drug suddenly stopped working. It had to be pulled from the market. $250M in sales, years of work, and millions of investment were lost. Polymorphism is the culprit behind it all! Polymorphism is the tendency of some molecules to reorganize their crystal structure under different conditions. The 1998 polymorph crisis occurred just two years after ritonavir's launch, at a moment when demand was surging, it was transforming HIV care, and regimens depended on a stable supply. The timing is why this is one of the most famous manufacturing crises in pharmaceutical history. So, what does this have to do with space? In microgravity, convection essentially stops. Sedimentation slows to near zero. Crystals can become larger, more uniform and ordered. For drug development, this matters in numerous ways when it comes to formulation. Microgravity offers the potential for better crystal structures and uniformity, as well as actually discovering NEW polymorphs in orbit (including novel forms of existing drugs). The problem has been access. In the past, getting to space was expensive, slow, complicated, and maybe you only had one shot every few years to send something up (if you were lucky), and maybe get something back down. Varda is building the infrastructure layer to bring new forms of drugs from space to Earth. Routine, reliable, and repeatable, Varda is adding space to the pharmaceutical development chain. https://vist.ly/42xyn

With $27M in funding led by Forerunner, and available in SF and LA today, Casa is founded by two of Uber's earliest employees, Michael York and Michael Mizrahi, who are now essentially doing to home ownership what Uber did to transportation: introducing a fundamentally new business model that enables tremendous price elasticity and a delightful, modern new user experience. It was a true joy working with this team to share their story with the world. Now the fun starts! https://lnkd.in/gx8ivByS

Instead of buying an electric scooter, we encouraged him to make an investment into something he could use to make more money... his response: "I want a DJ set so I can make money from playing music at my friends' parties!" 😎 So guess what we did this weekend... Picked up our first DJ set and learned how to mix and fade! 🎛️ 🎚️ We picked up some tips and tricks from Youtube videos at the recommendation of my good friend, DJ TEE EM DEE (Tyler Davis). You guys... he's actually really good! Hip hop, r&b, house, etc. 😆 Shout to my wife Ashley Drewery for being supportive of the idea and sharing my philosophy that it's our job as parents to learn who our kids are and to help them be the vest versions of themselves. Let us know if you're looking for a great kid DJ for your next party!

Jay Z. liked thisJay Z. liked thisThe last time I felt this excited in my technical career spanning 2+ decades was when I was just getting started. A week ago I started building a multi-agent orchestrated self-learning system. These things are really smart and sometimes really dumb at the same time. We fly past things that would take a human months to build and then we get stuck on some stupid thing that is so trivial — but the bot would keep repeating it. It's dumb and super smart, scary and exciting at the same time. What a time to be alive and be technical.

TheFounderVC has a truly compelling team - entrepreneurs and operators that have scaled from 0-1 and to exits across a variety of markets - some of whom are fellow classmates. They have built strong founder and VC networks over the last 25 years in tech and are now leveraging that access and experience on behalf of their portfolio. It clearly resonates with founders, as their early portfolio is truly compelling.

I’m so proud that Hyphen Capital has been a backer of Tim Hwang and Jonathan Chen since the beginning of Nitra. They had big ambitions to modernize the archaic back office of healthcare practices from fax machines to AI. It’s been amazing to see their growth from processing zero transactions to over a billion dollars and they’re just getting started.

Premiering now on the Digital Health Heavyweights Podcast I have a conversation with the co founder and CEO of Bonfire Analytics Vinay Nagaraj! One great moment was when Vinay says that while business moves at the speed of trust, so does sales. I could not agree more. It requires a huge level of authenticity, being able to connect with a person, as a person. Building deeper relationships. There is a lot to learn on this weeks episode. Vinay shares his journey from biomedical engineering to healthcare sales, discussing the challenges and successes he faced while scaling revenue at Roundtrip. He emphasizes the importance of authentic relationships in sales, the role of data in healthcare, and the key traits he looks for in salespeople. Vinay also discusses the inspiration behind Bonfire Analytics, its mission to accelerate healthcare technology adoption, and the common mistakes healthcare companies make in sales. He provides insights into market opportunities, the importance of making data actionable, and offers advice for founders seeking funding. I always love asking my guests the 3 things they look for when hiring for sales roles, Vinay shares three traits he likes to seek out: 1. Hunger to LEARN, someone always focusing on learning, growing, improving themselves personally, and professionally. 2. Taking Initiative- startups are all the hats, building the plane while you're flying it. So if you see a process that needs fixing, fix it. 3. Strong Communicators- communications that is clear, direct, and easy to understand. I would add radical transparency to this list, but I did only give him 3 traits to distill. Check in to learn if you're a vitamin, or a pain killer, emerging markets, and of course all about Bonfire's impact, and goals, and more! Check out our key takeaways: 🎯 Salespeople should focus on understanding customer pain points to be effective. 📊 Bonfire Analytics aims to provide actionable insights to healthcare companies to improve sales efficiency. 🌍 Vinay's global upbringing fostered adaptability and resilience, essential traits for a startup founder. 🏥 Healthcare companies often make the mistake of relying too heavily on large health systems for sales. 🔑 Data must be actionable; Bonfire helps clients leverage data effectively for their sales strategies. Investors from Breyer Capital, MBX Capital, and Mercury just dropped some wisdom: Three focus zones: - Upstream drivers of health outcomes - AI-powered health tech that actually improves care - Biotech/diagnostics/therapeutics tools - Specialized AI applications outperform generic platforms and address specific healthcare problems - Precision medicine is the name of the game. Funders want startups at the intersection of AI and personalized care. Bonus insight from Ben Kromnick at Mercury: He’s building with big clinical datasets and EHR-first strategies. Because if your AI can’t handle real-world mess, it’s useless. Bottom line: Investors aren’t just throwing money at flashy tech; they're backing startups with surgical precision: focused use-cases that improve care, data infrastructure that scales, and deep science to match. If you're launching in the health tech sector, pick your lane and own it. #Healthcare #Startups #AI

Check out the latest from Limbic - their breakthrough study in Nature Portfolio, shows how Limbic turns frontier language models into behavioral health specialists. In their pre-registered, double-blind randomized trial they showed that: 1️⃣ Adding the Limbic Layer improves AI-led therapy performance by 43% 2️⃣ Clinicians preferred Limbic over general-purpose LLMs 83% of the time 3️⃣ 74% of Limbic's AI sessions ranked among the top 10% of therapists 4️⃣ Patients rate the Limbic experience as comparable to clinician-led sessions Amazing stuff from Ross Harper and Sebastiaan de Vries - delighted to have them in the Entrepreneurs First portfolio.

AI and Health Tech in Focus AI Tool Used to Help Predict Postpartum Depression Researchers at Harvard University’s Massachusetts General Hospital have developed an AI tool that helps predict the risk of postpartum depression (PPD) before discharge from the hospital. Approximately 15% of women suffer from PPD which is responsible for suicide and self-harm and about 10% of all pregnancy related deaths. The researchers trained the algorithm based on about 29,000 mothers using electronic health records data including medical history, medication data, age, race, ethnicity, education, marital status, insurance type, number of births, mode of delivery, number of prenatal visits, length of delivery stay as well as an existing but more modest predictability score for PPD called EPDS. Incorporating this data resulted in an ability to predict more than three times the baseline risk of PPD. Using this model can help care teams identify those at risk for PPD and provide resources and support services such as referral to social workers, psychotherapy, psychiatry or medical therapy before they have an impact on the mother, child and their families. VC Investors are always adjusting their "Play Book" with a variety of options for investing. Mikal Ventures is one of those alternatives, offering curated solutions to real world problems. Too many startups assume: 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚’𝙨 𝙖 𝘾𝙋𝙏 𝙘𝙤𝙙𝙚 → 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚’𝙨 𝙖 𝙗𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨. Reality is rarely that linear. Viability tends to unfold in fits and starts, shaped by payer coverage, provider workflows, and the real operational burden behind reliable billing. ⚙️📉 Inspired by Matt Kamen's excellent post on CPT adoption curves & the recent ACCESS discussion, we’re sharing our internal framework: 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐬𝐤 𝐁𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐚 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐁𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐞 It goes deeper than payment policy — covering clinical and documentation requirements, enrollment and service mechanics, operational readiness, and the maturity of the CPT pathway. 🧠📋 If you’re evaluating a CPT-driven business model — or working with someone who is — comment “𝘾𝙋𝙏” below + DM me & I’ll share the document. 📄➡️ #startups #HealthcarePolicy #HealthTech #CMMI #ACCESSModel #Medicare #DigitalHealth
