From on-prem to cloud, from individual contributor to leading teams of all sizes, I’ve had the opportunity to continually reinvent myself while growing alongside this company. What’s stayed the same is what matters most—our deep commitment to customers and the incredible people-leaders, mentors, teammates- who make the work meaningful every day. Grateful to celebrate this milestone as one of 83 Fargo employees—reflecting on where it all started makes this moment even more meaningful, and a powerful reminder of the community and legacy we're part of. (enjoy the early-in-career photo of my Great Plains days!) Thank you to the Fargo site team for an incredible, thoughtful celebration. 25 years later, I’m still learning, still growing, and still inspired. #Microsoft #Gratitude #25Years

This has been a true team effort. Energizing, experimental, fast‑moving, and honestly a lot of fun, which is exactly how the best Frontier transformation work should feel. Huge appreciation for the many brilliant partners, collaborators, and leaders I get to work with every day and my fellow award winners Kathy, Stephan, Gollo, Christopher, Karen, and Carl. Thank you Soeren, Mike and Hennie for your support and leadership. Grateful. Energized. Onward. 🚀

John Bunney liked thisJohn Bunney liked thisAfter 27 incredible years, I’m retiring from Microsoft—feeling truly blessed beyond measure. I’m forever grateful for the friendships, challenges, growth, and memories along the way. It’s been a privilege to work with so many amazing teams across CSS (Customer Service & Support) and Premier—each one shaping my journey in meaningful ways. From debugging IIS during the dot-com boom… to building the CSS .Net and Security teams, pioneering Windows Outsourcing, leading the Windows Escalations team, and expanding the Premier Service Center—including launching the Costa Rica site—and returning to my roots in Developer Support with DAS (Developer Azure Services); it’s been an unforgettable ride. I’m especially grateful for the people—teammates, mentors, and leaders—who made every step worthwhile. Now, I’m off to LBM (Life Beyond Microsoft)… had to end with one last acronym 😄. Thank you all for being part of the journey. Pictured: one of my favorite awards—the “pressure cooker,” created by my innovative CSS Security peers for leading a GDI Security update.

While you weren’t my first boss, you've become the BEST boss! I'm grateful that we've built such an incredible partnership all these years. The person you are is the reason I have stayed by your side all these years. I have watched you grow from a newly promoted Director to a Vice President, then a Senior Vice President, and now Chief Customer Experience Officer. Throughout that journey, you have made the lives of everyone you encounter better. You are wonderful with our customers, but more importantly, you deeply care about your people. I am so thankful for how you lead—by example and with unwavering integrity. You treat everyone with respect and have always given me a seat at the table, encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone over the years. I am successful because of you. Happy 30th Work Anniversary, Joe! Joe Pinto

SFTP, FTPS, or Something Better? Choosing the Right File Transfer Approach for 2026 Despite the explosion of APIs and cloud-native integrations, file-based data exchange hasn’t gone away. Enterprises still rely on batch processing, nightly ETL jobs, data exports, and vendor file drops to move critical data between systems. APIs are great, but they don’t solve everything. Compliance rules, legacy vendor systems, and auditors still demand secure file-based transfers. That leaves developers maintaining fragile SFTP servers, managing SSH keys, user permissions, and backups just to keep “simple” nightly jobs running. This post gives a ground-level look at FTP and SFTP, explains where they fit in modern systems, and shows how SFTP To Go can simplify secure file transfers without requiring you to manage servers yourself. The Protocols: FTP, SFTP, and Where They Fit in Modern Systems FTP: The Legacy Protocol Developers Still Encounter FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is one of the oldest ways to move files across networks. The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD) needed a better way to deploy and manage Microsoft Defender for Endpoint across all systems. With Tanium and Microsoft integrations, MWD gained real-time visibility into endpoint health, reduced mean time to response to risks by up to 20%, and ensured consistent security converge—all from a single dashboard.

AI is the foundation of the modern autonomous network. Our latest announcement with Lumen Technologies (https://lnkd.in/ePmHVeyc) reflects that imperative. Together, we’re highlighting the strength of Lumen’s vision in driving exceptional, transformational outcomes for their business, and how Blue Planet's AI Studio is being used to support that vision. Skipping the Roses for AI Agents This year, I decided to skip the roses. Instead, I gave my wife a few AI agents to help run her vacation rental business. Over the last few weekends, I dove into her operation to see if the hype around AI was real. The challenge was one every business, big or small, faces: too many repetitive tasks and not enough time for high-value work. In her words: "I just need more time for the important things." So, as a personal project on my own time, I built her a small automated workforce: 🤖 A Chatbot Agent that instantly answers common guest questions via email, text, and her web portal. 📋 A Registration Agent that automates the entire guest check-in process, from collecting names to notifying the security and cleaning teams. ⚠️ An Escalation Agent that monitors conversations for frustration and alerts her via text when a human touch is truly needed. The impact was immediate and measurable: ✅ Guest registration time dropped from 30 minutes to just 1 minute. ✅ 80% of routine questions were handled automatically, freeing her up to be a better host. ✅ Her entire operation was simplified by consolidating two management platforms into one. My biggest takeaway from this project: The operational problems of a one-person business are often the same as a major enterprise—just at a different scale. It was a powerful reminder that effective AI automation isn't just for large corporations. What's the most interesting 'small-scale' opportunity for AI you've seen or thought of recently? P.S. For those of you wondering, she still wanted the roses :-)
