✋ It wasn't us - honest truth! It was not by AMS's design or request that an article (p16) that promotes a legacy technology for removing carcinogenic hexavalent chromium but that includes both an image of the trucks that would be required to transport weekly thousands of gallons toxic waste from dozens of local communities to specialized treatment sites and also a 'health warning' from Ecolab that the technology may also generate radioactive waste was placed alongside a fact-based article (page 19) that compares competing treatment technologies. That article systematically addresses why these legacy technologies are not fit for pupose. This also calls into serious question why some leading consulting engineers continue to promote these legacy technologies rather than offering Californian communities the option of an approved and proven solution that has a 40% lower lifetime cost. Rainmaker uses drones for cloud-seeding. In addition to agriculture, they are thinking of it as water infrastructure: why build more pipes and canals when the clouds can do the heavy lifting?  Augustus Doricko    Jericho Security raised a $15 million Series A from Era, Lux Capital, and Gaingels. What are the Costs of Weakening Shareholder Primacy? Evidence from a U.S. Quasi-Natural Experiment Abstract We study the consequences of weakening shareholder primacy using Nevada Senate Bill 203 as a quasi-natural experiment. A difference-in-differences analysis shows that, instead of improving their governance in response to the Bill to reassure capital providers, affected firms experience a governance deterioration. As a result, the law's adoption causes a drop in the valuation of firms incorporated in Nevada. These firms decrease the performance sensitivity of CEO pay, make more but worse acquisitions, and reduce the efficiency of their capital expenditures and R&D.
