What will a dental practice look like 10 years from now? I find that imagining a decade into the future is the best way to spark true innovation. Looking around a dental office today, I often wonder: which of the tools, devices, and equipment we use every day will still be here in 2036, and which will have become relics of the past? One thing is certain: the pace of change in the next 10 years will far outstrip the last 10. We are entering an era of exponential acceleration, making our imaginations run even wilder. Think about the smartphone. It consolidated nearly 30 different devices from cameras to GPS into a single, elegant interface. Can dental technology achieve the same level of convergence? If so, where will the "Technology Gravity" pull us? I envision a future where a patient simply walks through a full-body scanner at the entrance, instantly capturing all necessary clinical data. In this world, the treatment room might only need a single dental chair, with all the "clutter" of traditional equipment replaced by seamless AI and data integration. As someone who has been in the dental industry for over 20 years, I'm curious about your thoughts. What is the one thing in your office you think will never disappear? Which technology do you believe will be the "Gravity" that pulls everything together? Looking forward to seeing some "crazy" ideas.

Predictions for 2026 in PEs taking their ortho properties public. I would watch for these four: 1/ Advita Ortho (fka Exactech): This is the “phoenix” rising from the assets of Exactech following its 2024 bankruptcy. It officially launched in November 2025 with a fresh balance sheet, shedding the legacy recall liabilities. It is now owned by an investor group led by Strategic Value Partners (SVP), Stellex Capital Management, and Greywolf Capital Management. 2/ Tyber Medical: Acquired in early 2025 by Montagu, which merged it with Intech and Resolve Surgical Technologies to create a massive contract manufacturing platform. 3/ Isto Biologics: A leader in regenerative medicine/biologics, recently acquired by Keensight Capital in 2025. 4/ Highridge Medical: Formed via the acquisition of spine assets (like FlareHawk) from Accelus, backed by private investors focused on the ASC market.
