Jerry McGee liked thisJerry McGee liked thisSenator Cotton's office recently released S.4380 which, if passed, would enable private critical infrastructure organizations and their contracted security organizations to conduct C-UAS (detection and mitigation). While the Safer Skies Act was a great leap forward by granting SLTT LE C-UAS authority, they do not have the resources to provide sustained and persistent protection from drone threats to critical infrastructure. Law enforcement is a response entity and would not have the time to react in an actual attack scenario. C-UAS protection needs to be in a constant and persistent state of alert with reaction times in the seconds. Only through C-UAS protection at a given site can we be sure to have at least a chance at preventing a kinetic attack via drone(s) on our critical infrastructure facilities, assets and people. Senator Cotton has been a staunch advocate for the safety and security of our Nation, specifically as it pertains to addressing threats drones pose. He continues to show his concern and willingness to propose legislation that advanced for its time and sets us on a path towards balanced safety and security policy. We should be thankful to have such leadership within the Senate. https://lnkd.in/eBgvPS2wText - S.4380 - 119th Congress (2025-2026): A bill to grant authority to use counter-unmanned aircraft system technologies to private owners of critical infrastructure facilities, and for other purposes.Text - S.4380 - 119th Congress (2025-2026): A bill to grant authority to use counter-unmanned aircraft system technologies to private owners of critical infrastructure facilities, and for other purposes.

Jerry McGee liked thisJerry McGee liked thisDrone detection and mitigation technologies are a new element to any organization’s security program. While this emerging threat and the security technology to counter the threat are new and additive to an overall security program, this technology should not be thought of as a separate and/or standalone security domain. Drone security should be integrated into any organization’s overall security program to ensure a complete and total security response addressing any type of threat. Only through an across-the-board, multi-domain security integrator can an organization ensure a single monitor data access and interaction point for total security awareness.

Voyager Technologies is taking a significant step towards public markets, launching its roadshow for a proposed NYSE listing that could value the defence and space technology firm at $1.6 billion. The company plans to price shares between $26.00 and $29.00 each, with trading expected under ticker symbol "VOYG" subject to regulatory approval. This IPO represents a notable milestone for the national security and space solutions sector. Voyager's credentials are impressive: serving over 500 customers across 35-plus nations and successfully completing more than 1,240 customer missions to space stations. The company has established itself as a leader in mission-critical technologies for both defence and commercial space applications. Central to Voyager's growth strategy is the Starlab joint venture with Airbus, designed to expand human presence in low-orbit space. This partnership positions the company at the forefront of the next generation of space infrastructure development. The proceeds will primarily fund strategic growth initiatives, including enhanced research and development programmes and capital asset acquisition to support long-term innovation. The company has also indicated potential mergers and acquisitions within its core business areas. For investors and industry professionals, this IPO offers exposure to the rapidly expanding intersection of defence technology and commercial space exploration. As governments and private entities increasingly prioritise space capabilities, companies like Voyager are well-positioned to capitalise on growing demand for sophisticated space-based solutions. The listing could also signal broader market confidence in the defence technology sector's growth prospects. #DefenceTech #SpaceInnovation

UAS Nexus Launches Drone Syndicate To Solve Blue UAS Component Supply Chaos Utah engineering firm unveils NDAA-compliant parts marketplace and MOSA-first FPV platform as Pentagon drone orders surge. While defense contractors battle for Blue UAS contracts, a Salt Lake City engineering firm is solving a more fundamental problem: sourcing the thousands of NDAA-compliant components needed to actually build drones at wartime scale. UAS Nexus launched the Drone Syndicate Store on November 20, 2025, offering vetted marketplace access to NDAA and Blue UAS compliant components alongside Platform One, a Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) FPV platform capable of 10,000-plus aircraft monthly production through decentralized manufacturing. The Component Sourcing Bottleneck "It can be tough to scour the globe for drone parts when you're looking to build an NDAA or BlueUAS compliant platform," CEO Bobby Sakaki said in the company announcement. "So we developed a resource for OEMs and end-users to procure hardware quickly and reliably that layers into our technical engineering services." The marketplace operates through a membership request system, reflecting the specialized compliance requirements and limited availability that plague NDAA-compliant component sourcing. The timing addresses urgent military demand. The U.S. Army plans to purchase at least one million drones over the next two to three years, while the Marine Corps recently ordered 8,000 FPV drones under a $17 million contract with manufacturers like Neros Technologies. Platform One: Ukraine-Inspired Manufacturing Platform One takes direct inspiration from Ukraine's battlefield-proven approach to FPV production. The MOSA-first design works with most Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTs) components, creating supply chain resilience through vendor flexibility. "It's simple, and it works with just about everything on the market, so you have a truly resilient supply chain because if one vendor is maxed out, you can leverage dozens of others," said Ryan LaBarre, UAS Nexus Head of Mechanical who designed Platform One. "Plus when you manufacture on the edge, you can customize it however you want." The decentralized manufacturing model mirrors Ukraine's successful strategy of producing drones through distributed networks rather than centralized facilities. Ukrainian manufacturers are projected to produce 2 million FPV drones in 2025 alone, with individual units costing roughly the same as an Android smartphone. MOSA Architecture Mandated By DoD The Department of Defense now requires Modular Open Systems Approach in all major defense acquisition programs under Title 10 U.S.C. 4401(b). MOSA mandates designs using interchangeable components with standardized interfaces, eliminating vendor lock and accelerating technology upgrades. The approach allows system components to be added, removed, or replaced throughout a platform's lifecycle. For FPV drones operating in contested electromagnet...

Anduril Industries is raising $4bn in a new funding round led by Thrive Capital and Andreessen Horowitz, at a reported $60bn valuation. The Costa Mesa-based defence tech group is seeking the capital as it scales manufacturing capacity, including a planned Ohio facility to mass-produce aerial and maritime drones. The valuation would nearly double Anduril’s previous mark and follows guidance that 2025 revenue is on track to reach $2bn, driven primarily by US and allied defence contracts. The company had previously explored raising up to $8bn, underscoring the depth of investor appetite for defence-aligned AI and autonomous systems. The round signals how venture capital continues to flow into dual-use and defence platforms as Pentagon procurement shifts toward software-defined systems, autonomy and advanced manufacturing. At a $60bn valuation, Anduril would sit alongside the largest privately held technology companies in the US — a notable milestone for a business built around defence modernisation rather than traditional enterprise or consumer markets. #defencetech #venturecapital #AI #aerospace #startups

Strategic Consolidation in Defense Tech: A Signal, Not an Isolated Deal The recent acquisition of Spear UAV by Uvision a full-ownership consolidation after leading a strategic financing round underscores a deeper structural shift in defense tech markets. What might look like another M&A headline is really a multidimensional signal about how tomorrow’s battlefield tech economy is evolving: Capability integration over point solutions. Uvision’s move to absorb this capability expands its reach across swarms, multi-domain penetration, and heterogeneous launch environments. From units to ecosystems. Traditional unmanned systems markets are fragmenting into layered operational ecosystems: loitering munitions, autonomous launch vectors, and intelligent deployment platforms. Integration bets like this acquisition are instruments for building composable defense stacks rather than single-product portfolios. Consolidation as a response to demand acceleration. Sustained operational demand and geopolitical pressure are forcing established players to accelerate capability breadth and depth. Winning tech in one niche isn’t enough; leaders are integrating adjacent domains (naval, ground, air) to secure comprehensive solutions. Implications for investors & founders. This isn’t merely about exits: it’s about architecting durable, interoperable capability chains that can scale globally. For VC portfolios, it reframes diligence toward: • Systems that can plug into multi-domain operations • IP that materially enhances platform value when recombined • Founders building with acquisition synergies in mind At OpImpact.fund, we see this as part of a larger thematic arc: defense tech is consolidating around networked lethality and modular deployment, not standalone widgets. Deals like this are the market shouting that integration, interoperability, and scalability are the currencies of value creation in 21st century defense. Proud to be joining Eric Brock and the Ondas Autonomous Systems team and taking this next step together. What stands out to me is the clarity of the vision and the urgency behind it. The future of ISR is integrated, multi-domain, and driven by speed to decision. Bringing together Ondas’ capabilities with World View’s persistent stratospheric systems allows us to deliver a layer of awareness that has been missing, and to connect it seamlessly across the full mission stack. I’m incredibly proud of the World View team. We have spent years building a capability that can persist where others cannot, and deliver unique, high-value data from the stratosphere. Seeing that capability now integrated into a broader, AI-enabled architecture with Ondas and Palantir is a powerful step forward. This is about more than technology. It is about delivering real outcomes for our customers and for the warfighters who rely on these systems every day. We have a lot of work ahead. I’m energized by the team, aligned on the mission, and ready to get after it. #ISR #Defense #Autonomy #AI #Leadership
