Joe Depa shared thisI spend a lot of time thinking about technology, but yesterday was a reminder that the most important things in life will never be automated: love, hope, and showing up for one another. Each year we deliver toys to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta on the birthday of my daughter Melissa, who tragically passed away from childhood cancer. Yesterday, we got to do it again for the tenth year. Every time, it feels like a band aid for the soul. Thank you to the incredible community that continues to remember Melissa and to the amazing doctors and nurses, the exhausted parents right beside them, and the brave kids at the center of it all for showing us what courage really looks like. If you’re in a dark place, know you’re not alone. We are all in this together. That’s what makes us human.

Joe Depa shared thisAI isn’t moving at the same speed everywhere. In our latest EY AI Sentiment Study, a set of “Pioneer” markets are showing earlier, deeper adoption and signals of trust. Other markets are moving more cautiously as security and guardrails shape the pace. The takeaway for leaders: don’t treat AI as a one-size-fits-all rollout. Meet people where they are, trust has to be earned through real experiences, and scale responsibly because if you break the trust it is very hard to earn it back. Our AI Sentiment Survey shows 94% of Brazilians have used AI in the last six months, ahead of the global average of 84%. However, three quarters of Brazilians worry about security issues, and fewer than half trust companies to protect their data. It is clear our Brazil teams are leaning in fast on AI, but with real intention around enabling responsible AI. That focus matters. The conversations were thoughtful, candid, and truly energizing. We dug into how AI is reshaping everything, from how products and investments are designed, to how we empower the workforce and deliver impact for clients and society. A few key takeaways: 💡 We can’t do it alone. Technology is moving fast, and none of us can do this alone. Models are converging and increasingly built on similar public data. Differentiation will come from how we orchestrate our ecosystems, across partners, platforms, and proprietary capabilities, to drive real outcomes. 💡 AI‑ready infrastructure and responsible governance must be built in from day one. In every discussion, one theme was clear: AI is no longer about tools or experimentation; it’s redefining how operating models, product teams, and enterprise decision‑making must evolve. In the Future of PDLC conversation, I had the privilege of partnering with Sinclair Schuller and Max Tynan of 8090 Solutions to unpack how AI is transforming the product development lifecycle end‑to‑end. The dialogue surfaced the real shifts underway as firms rethink team structures, engineering rhythms, and governance models to deliver AI outcomes with speed and safety. Clients shared a common realization: the challenge ahead isn’t just building faster—it’s scaling responsibly across complex, legacy‑heavy environments. Key insights: Outcome‑Driven Teams: AI is pushing product firms to pivot from feature delivery to enterprise‑level outcomes, with tighter integration between business, engineering, and governance. Lifecycle Discipline: Scaling AI requires credible documentation, reuse patterns and lifecycle design that ensure safety, reliability, and regulatory resilience. Joe Depa reacted on thisJoe Depa reacted on thisRest in peace, Baba (Dad). He was a mathematician, engineer, physicist, and software programmer, as well as a singer, hiker, poker star, skier, soccer, and tennis player. He faced the loss of his twin at a young age but persevered, graduating from the University of Tehran with a degree in Physics before pursuing a master's in Petroleum Engineering at Imperial College London, where he met my mom. He returned to Tehran to work in the water well drilling business with his father-in-law. In 1979, war and revolution changed everything, leading us to America, where he earned a second master's in Software Engineering at Boston University and worked at AGFA Monotype, writing the code that enables font types to function on devices and earning several patents in the process. He was always willing to help anyone who asked, enjoyed taking on projects that helped others or engaging in a friendly game of poker. Three important lessons I learned from him: 1. Advanced Math and coding at a very young age is valuable, for me in elementary school during the 80s. 2. Be as kind as possible to as many people as you can, as you never know when you might find yourself in their shoes. 3. Continuously learn about every topic, as knowledge is something that cannot be taken away from you. His legacy is carried on by me and his daughter Alexa Ghafouri, MBA, five grandchildren, and all of us on planet earth who he touched with a kind act or a favor. On a positive note, he will be joining my amazing mom, his twin sister, siblings, and parents in the kingdom of heaven. Rest in peace, Dad. We love you and you will be missed.
