Joni Gilbert Kovarik liked thisJoni Gilbert Kovarik liked thisI lost Ann, my 88-year-old sister, in March. It has left an Ann-sized hole in my life and heart. It’s a hole that is filled with love. What a gift and blessing she was for me - I shared her on LinkedIn at 87 when she said, "Look! It's a monarch butterfly! We haven't seen many lately." With that comment, she taught me to see the beauty that is right in front of me that I’d been missing. In another post, I shared her saying, “Cucumbers - they aren’t quite as good as last year” when she had just turned 88. With that comment, she taught me that I can connect to the natural world in a deeper way. And find gratitude for what the poet Rumi called the extraordinary beauty that emanates from the most simple act and common object. And from a loving sister. Ann cooked from scratch. She kept bounteous gardens, giving us amazing food with the joy of sharing it. We sat on her back deck, and she’d tell me the name of the bird of every bird call we heard. She helped me listen to the music of life in a new way. And flowers – she’d been a flower-arranging judge for decades. “Got to cut some flowers…” and she was off to bring back beauty. But the best part was just her smile, her connection, and the presence of her love. In my world of care, Ann was, and is, a profound source of love and meaning. I am grieving losing Ann. I have learned that we grieve because we love. And grief has a path back to love. My love hasn’t stopped. I’m even more aware of it now. In that way, I haven’t lost Ann after all. Love you, Ann.

Reflecting on my time at Atlassian (Dec 2018 – Aug 2025), this period stands out as one of the most defining and rewarding phases of my career. Over nearly seven years, I led the build and scale of the Enterprise Automation in FinTech & CoE Team within Corporate Engineering, transforming how business systems connect, operate, and deliver value at scale. I contributed to over six major transformation programs, consistently delivering MVPs within accelerated timelines, typically nine months or less. Beyond the platforms and programs, it is the people and culture that will stay with me most teams grounded in trust, ownership, and continuous learning. A heartfelt thank you to the amazing teammates, leaders, and partners who made this journey so meaningful. Your support, collaboration, and shared ambition made all the difference. I’m especially grateful to those who challenged perspectives, pushed boundaries, and helped elevate both the work and the people around it. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the peers, senior leaders, and partners who played a pivotal role in enabling and supporting these 6+ transformation journeys at Atlassian Ramya Santhana-Gopalan, Pranav Shahi, John Stame, Venky Pandian, Selvakumar Pachiyappan, Gautham D and Varad Seshadri. In March, 2010 I began a weekly writers support group I have been facilitating weekly for over two years - A Writers Support Group for Reticent Bloggers consistently has stunning and inspiring conversations with 12 - 30 people who understand the value of writing to develop themselves and their business through self-publishing of articles and books and blogging. To date and 140 events later over 2,000 have repeatedly attended sessions. In July, 2011 I launched a community blog and began monthly writing challenges to provide a platform for sharing writing and developing our writing voice, communication and storytelling skills for business and personal satisfaction. As of July, 2012 over 800 posts have been authored by over 50 contributors and the writing, SEO, and back links are impacting both the sites and the individuals' Google Rankings positively. I have mentored in group and individually over 150 who attribute the facilitation, the community and the atmosphere of support to be like a catalyst for them to develop their writing and communication skills and blog with enthusiasm, confident in their writing as they develop professionally.Other creators -

Thoroughly enjoyed watching the Day 1 Keynote at Gainsight's Pulse Europe conference from last week. https://lnkd.in/gQHu6KfF Chuck Ganapathi the CEO of Gainsight shares findings from their latest annual CS Index survey to 500 companies. - retention isn't important. it's existential. - 82% of companies surveyed are continuing and increasing their CS investment. - 28% of companies have CS reporting directly to the CEO - 43% of CS teams own the renewal, and -68% are driving expansions as well. "The important of CS is only going up." I found this of particular interest due to all of our churn analysis and customer health research. Customer Success is as important as ever before, but how do you leverage agents where possible to free up CSMs for the high value activities. Our interviewees are continually stating the importance of competence and confidence in their sales rep, Account Manager and CSM. This is particularly important in mid market to enterprise and strategic deals. People matter. The approach matters. He also shared the notion of transforming from workflow to outcomes. And how outcomes are becoming the product. Intercom shares how they are the first to market with outcome based pricing. We at IcebergIQ see this in interviews, where usage and user based pricing can become a sticking point. Buyers can budget accordingly but it doesn't always translate into value. So I'm particularly intrigued to see this unfold. Worth watching if you are in B2B SaaS and especially if you are in Customer Success! https://lnkd.in/gQHu6KfF
