Kim (Hartwell) Prunty reacted on thisKim (Hartwell) Prunty reacted on thisA few weeks ago, I said a bittersweet “see you real soon” to Tasia Filippatos as she begins her next chapter with Disney. From our first virtual Town Halls nearly four years ago to a full-circle moment at SXSW earlier this month, it’s been an absolute privilege to help share Disney Consumer Products’ story alongside her. I’m proud of what we built and even more grateful for the example she provided: lead with purpose, elevate those around you, and never lose sight of your people. Thank you, Tasia, for your guidance, trust, leadership and kindness. I’ll be cheering you on in what’s next.

Kim (Hartwell) Prunty liked thisKim (Hartwell) Prunty liked thisThe cheering you heard yesterday and will continue to hear about Josh D'Amaro becoming the next CEO of The Walt Disney Company is genuine and deeply rooted reasons. Yes, Josh is a passionate believer in how special Disney is to millions of people and deeply protective of our legacy. Yes, he's a highly strategic executive who also has strong creative instincts and taste. And yes, he's able to balance the Wall Street pressure to deliver today, while also dreaming big for tomorrow. But I believe the biggest reason for the cheering is how Josh connects with people. We're a storytelling company so allow me share two brief stories about Josh. The first one was almost exactly 9 years ago. We were going through an organizational change that was particularly challenging for me. At that point Josh and I were both Vice Presidents for different parts of Walt Disney World but sat on the same executive leadership team and worked together at times. When the change was announced and I was at a low point, Josh called me and left me a voicemail saying that it was an interesting and awkward day but he was thinking of me and, when I was ready, he'd be there for me to talk to. That may feel small, but it meant the world to me. Up to that point, I had never worked for Josh and we really didn't know each other that well. He didn't have an obligation to me. But Josh sensed I was struggling with the change and took the time to reach out to me. After a day of reflection, I did call Josh back and he reassured me that everything would be okay... and encouraged me to stay with the company because it needs leaders like me. It was exactly what I needed to hear. Josh left that voicemail on February 17, 2007 at 6:53pm. I know that because I still have it saved on my phone. The second story takes place one year ago. I was in the hunt for my current SVP, Commercial Strategy role and hopeful the decision would go my way but in waiting mode. Josh happened to be in FL and made an unannounced stop by my office. Keep in mind, at the time Josh was the Chairman of Disney Experiences... a massive role and scope... but he stopped by my office (versus having me come to him) and we talked for 20 minutes about the SVP role. At the end of the impromptu chat, Josh said "hang in there, we're in the home stretch" and told me I'd hear something soon. He took the time to do that when he certainly had many other priorities and calendar commitments. Another example of how Josh leaves people feeling seen. Why do these stories matter? Because more than the accomplishments on his resume, they speak to HOW Josh leads and genuinely connects with people. Josh is a builder of people and culture as much as he is a business builder. That is a big part of why so many cast members and the Disney fan community are cheering so loudly. Go get 'em, Josh. We're all rooting for you and so very proud to be part of this company with you at the helm. #disney #leadership

Key to our culture is our new purpose: “We create happiness everyday”. Our teams around the world inspire me with how they do that each and every day.

AP Fund for Journalism (APFJ) today revealed that 50 more news organizations will join its landmark local news initiative, bringing the total participating newsrooms to 100 in this first-of-its-kind civic infrastructure effort to support public service journalism, strengthen the U.S. local news landscape, and deliver information and reporting that assists communities nationwide. This expansion marks another key milestone for APFJ, which aims to reach 150 total participating newsrooms by the end of 2026 and 300 by 2028. APFJ launched a pilot program with 50 news organizations last April. Read the announcement:

The Public Broadcasting Act does guarantee that every eligible local, noncommercial public media station can receive support from CPB. Therefore, this clawback would directly and immediately impact local public radio stations. This includes NPR Member organizations, responsible for more than 1,000 station signals in our network, as well as hundreds of other public media organizations.

You may not have seen me on your TV in the Greater Orlando area, but I’ve spent years in the field reporting live, connecting with people, and telling stories that matter. As I aim for into the comms and PR world, I want to show you the range I bring. From stakeholder messaging to community engagement and clear, on-camera presence. This week, I’m sharing moments from my field reporting career to give you a glimpse of how I’ve already been doing the work many comms teams value: 📍 Message clarity 📍 Collaboration with internal/external partners 📍 Representing voices that often go unheard 🎥 First up: A story I produced and reported for Hispanic Heritage Month in Palm Beach County. It spotlights a dual-language education program supported by the FL Department of Education and the Ministry of Education in Spain. #Communications #PublicRelations #LatinoVoices #MediaToComms #Bilingual #RepresentationMatters

Community engagement and advocacy have always been the focus of my media work. During my time with The Tim & Teri Show on Z99 Grand Cayman, our mission was simple: use the power of radio and community connection to amplify causes that matter most to the Cayman Islands. Here’s a few examples of organizations and causes we were proud to partner with: 🌟 Cayman Islands Cancer Society Partnering with CICS was one of our proudest collaborations. Between radio and social media, our efforts reached nearly a quarter of the population. Being part of the annual Stride Against Cancer—and seeing it grow into a record-breaking event in 2025—was an incredible honor. 🐾 Cayman Islands Humane Society As animal lovers, we poured our hearts into supporting the Humane Society. Our “Pet of the Month” segment achieved almost 100% adoption rates, and we were hands-on with every major fundraiser, including the 2024 Furball. Seeing more animals find loving homes was deeply rewarding. 🎓 Education & Youth Achievement From judging the Conyers Interschool Debate to showcasing school theater groups, we made it a priority to highlight youth voices and accomplishments. Schools often reached out for support, and building those connections with students, teachers, and families became a cornerstone of our show. 💚 Mental Health Awareness On a more personal level, we committed to breaking stigma around mental health. Supporting the Addison Kelly Butterfly 5K with the Alex Panton Foundation became a yearly highlight, and the 2025 event saw record participation—impacting nearly 20% of the population. Looking back, I’m grateful that our platform became more than just a show—it was a community hub. The partnerships, stories, and causes we supported exemplified what radio is about - connecting people within local communities to effect positive change,

The biggest shift I'm watching heading into 2026 is the continued rise of independent journalism and what it means for the industry. Legacy media outlets are consolidating, newsrooms are shrinking and at the same time, independent journalists and platforms like Substack are gaining real influence. The people shaping conversations aren't always sitting in traditional newsrooms anymore. They're building their own audiences, and those audiences are often more engaged and more targeted than what we used to see from broad-based coverage. For organizations in D.C., this changes everything. You can't rely on the old playbook of pitching a handful of major outlets and calling it a day. You need to be more strategic, more intentional and more focused on reaching the voices that actually move your audience. 2026 is going to require communicators to be more adaptable, more strategic and more willing to meet the media where it actually is, not where it used to be. #BigIdeas2026 #PublicAffairs #MediaStrategy

Hispanics love radio. And the data keeps proving it. A strong read from Annette Malave (RAB) highlights what many of us in audio already know — Hispanic consumers continue to over-index on radio listening, trust it, and act on what they hear. According to Nielsen’s Audio Today study, radio reaches 93% of Hispanic adults each month, with especially heavy listening happening in-car and away from home — moments where decisions are made and brands are remembered. This matters for: • Marketers building reach and frequency • CFOs focused on efficiency and ROI • CPG, Pharma, Auto brands driving consideration • And political advertisers, where trust, repetition, and persuasion are everything Radio isn’t legacy media. It’s proven, trusted, and delivering results — especially with Hispanic audiences. If radio isn’t a meaningful part of your media mix, you’re leaving impact (and votes, sales, and share) on the table.
