The International Tin Association reads the tape forward: deficits persist unless new projects clear permits and capital. That makes design choices strategic, not cosmetic, because grams saved or re-specified change procurement math at scale. The operator’s playbook isn’t “find a cheaper lot.” It is map where tin sits in your designs, pre-qualify alternates, and treat recycling as a second mine. Madison Gas and Electric has received approval from the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin to move forward with Sunnyside Solar Energy Center. The solar array is expected to produce enough electricity yearly to power approximately 6,000 homes. It will feature a 20-megawatt (MW) solar array along with a 40-MW battery storage system. Jeff Keebler, MGE Chairman, President and CEO, stated, “MGE shares with our customers the goal of a more sustainable energy future. The Sunnyside Solar Energy Center builds on the progress we’ve already made reducing carbon emissions, increasing our use of cost-effective, locally generated renewable energy and advancing new technologies to benefit all our customers.
