Rasmus Lerdorf shared thisCarl is looking for a 3-4 month internship in Denmark from May to August 2022. He is going into his 2nd year of Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo: https://lnkd.in/gU-9eEHV It is a co-op program that alternates between 4 months of school and 4-month work terms for 5 years. Same program I was in, actually. He's comfortable in Java, C++, C (mostly Arduino/ESP32), C#, PHP, Python, and both mobile app development, but he picks up new languages quickly at this point. He also likes electronics which is obvious from the crazy watches he likes to build and he will most likely commute to work on a unicycle. He's a Danish citizen, so no visa sponsorship is needed and a work term in Denmark would give him a stronger connection to Denmark and allow him to maintain his citizenship after he turns 22. Is it safe? I once asked a team to ship something they were ashamed of. Rough code. Unmaintainable. Zero error handling. They looked at me like I’d lost my mind. The thing is, every person has a default delivery mode. Some sprint. Some play it safe. Some squeeze the budget. If you want them to work outside that default, you have to give them three things: Clarity - why this piece of work sits here on the iron triangle. Safety - knowing the compromises are deliberate, recognised, and, if worth iI, paid back. Honour - the right to be proud of work that looks wrong, because it’s right for now. And that safety isn’t just inside the team. All stakeholders outside the team needs to know what they’re getting: the speed, the quality, the cost. No surprises. No one made to look foolish for backing it. Without that? They’ll stick to their default. Every time. Teach it. Fix it. Relentlessly explain why. Even codify it in your design notes, so an engineer can point and say: > “This mess? This was the plan.” When that happens You stop getting “default mode” delivery. You start getting exactly what you asked for.

So which models produce HTML that has the least accessibility errors, and at what cost? Mapped it out here (bottom left is the best). This is helpful for understanding which models are most compliant for those with disabilities and do it efficiently. Qwen and Gemini 2.5 Flash lead the pack. I saw some dunks on this product release on twitter, but I think they're wrong - this is a good product. I wouldn't be surprised if this turns into a marketplace with website owners on one side, developers (well, AI companies and AI agents) on the other side, and Cloudflare right in the middle. What I'm imagining is that websites sat behind Cloudflare could turn off scraping with the flip of a switch and selectively allow companies to crawl them for a fee. Cloudflare can decide which sides of the transaction to take a piece of (the crawling? the marketplace relationship?). The compute and storage for Cloudflare are all incremental. https://lnkd.in/geQMX3eW

Check out this a brief demo of a small tool I have been building in the last couple weeks that turns dense federal appropriations PDFs into something regular folks can understand. Right now the pipeline looks like this: • A Next.js frontend uploads bills via presigned URLs straight into MinIO (S3-compatible storage). A FastAPI backend pulls the PDF, runs a parser that merges table cells and surrounding prose into structured rows, attaches page and bounding box metadata, and stores everything in PostgreSQL. • It then uses the OpenAI API to suggest cleaner program names and short summaries for each funding line. • From there the API can audit the table, generate diffs between fiscal years, export CSVs, and render highlighted snippets of the original PDF for context. Everything runs under Docker Compose: Postgres for relational data, MinIO for documents and images, FastAPI for the API, and Nginx as the single public entry point. The goal is to make it much easier to see what is actually being funded, compare versions of a bill, and link every number back to the source text. It's also a pretty neat use-case for use LLMs to create accessible tools that benefit everyone and break down barriers. Check out the code here: https://lnkd.in/eiQDzBuX
