Steve Foreman reposted thisSteve Foreman reposted this⚡️📈 The conventional utility playbook is struggling to keep up with the modern grid. Writing for Utility Dive, our CEO Nick Woolley explores how utilities can navigate the dual pressure of AI-driven bulk system strain and EV-related distribution stress. The answer isn't just building more infrastructure—it’s managing the flexibility already sitting on your feeders. ✅ Proven Reliability: California programs achieved 98% of EV load delivered off-peak through active, software-driven optimization. 💰 Value at Scale: Managed charging could unlock $30 billion in annual utility cost avoidance across the U.S. by 2035. 🔋 Multi-DER Opportunity: Coordinating EVs, solar, and battery storage creates a non-wires alternative capable of deferring real capital expenditure and protecting ratepayers. The technology is proven, and the regulatory environment is shifting to recognize DER flexibility as a credible alternative to traditional spend. Every year of delay is a year of avoidable investment passed directly to the customer. Read Nick’s full analysis on why your customers own the grid’s future. Read it here 👉 https://bit.ly/4czuP9b

Steve Foreman shared thisI so believe in this fantastic ev.energy commercial team. If I was our competition, I would be very worried. Let’s go help the industry move forward in a big way.Steve Foreman shared this🌴🔋 Sunshine, strategy, and scaling affordable energy for all! Our global Commercial team touched down in Orlando this week for our 2026 Kick-Off! It’s been an incredible few days of aligning our strategy to ensure that, as the grid evolves, energy remains affordable and secure for everyone — along with some team games for good measure. While the Florida sun was a highlight, the real energy came from planning how we’ll continue to scale our Virtual Power Plant (VPP) to deliver firm, reliable capacity to the grid. By orchestrating EVs and other home assets at scale, we’re helping our utility and energy retailer clients smooth out system peaks, defer infrastructure expenditure, delight customers, and drive down energy costs for everyone. With the ev.energy Platform, we’re proud to unlock: ✅ Reliability at Scale: Moving beyond pilots to deliver rate-case-ready programs that utilities can trust. 📊 Secure Orchestration: Using our Autonomous Grid Stack to provide active, feeder-level control and audit-grade data. 💰 Affordability for All: Reducing energy costs for every driver and homeowner by maximizing the value of flexible load. We're leaving Orlando more energized than ever to help our clients Plan, Act, and Defend their way to a more resilient grid.

Steve Foreman reacted on thisSteve Foreman reacted on thisSomething that's becoming increasingly clear from my conversations: EV & VPP program reliability is as much a data architecture question as it is a recruitment question. Leaning on a single connection type carries real concentration risk, by introducing a single point of failure. Telematics integrations sunset, APIs change, EVSE comm paths drop, customer authorizations lapse. When any of those happens, the program loses visibility into that load. For programs with regulatory recovery, EM&V, or incentive obligations attached, that operational issue can extend into a defensibility issue. Our integration framework is built to address this. OEM-first where feasible, customer & program-protected throughout, and a portfolio of pathways (telematics, EVSE-direct, and AMI) operating in parallel. When the same EV shows up across multiple data streams, we leverage the highest-quality source available at any moment and fall back automatically when one doesn't deliver. Removing single points of failure on the data side. AMI disaggregation plays a specific role in that portfolio. It detects EV charging directly at the meter, with no installed hardware or app dependency, which means it both reaches customers who don't show up through other recruitment channels (Level 1, older vehicles, unlinked accounts) and provides a redundant signal for those who do. This adds to addressable population, and offers durability against any single integration breaking. Our partnership with Sense is part of how we're operationalizing that today. For utilities already investing in AMI, this is part of how that investment shows up in your EV program: broader reach, fewer single points of failure, and a program that holds up over time in a market where protocols and data standards continue to be established. Steve Foreman reacted on thisSteve Foreman reacted on thisThe VPP market is growing fast - and that's genuinely exciting. 38.6 GW of enrolled capacity in the US in 2025. Real progress, and ev.energy is proud to be part of it with partners like Consolidated Edison Energy, Inc. and National Grid. But after seven years scaling flexibility programs across EVs, batteries, solar and thermostats, I've learned to look past the gigawatt headlines. Nameplate capacity is just the starting point. It's the most flattering number in the stack. To understand what a VPP actually delivers — especially one drawing on multiple asset types simultaneously — you need to look at a few things together: how much capacity is genuinely available at any given moment, how often you can call on it, how much energy that translates to over a week or a season, and what it costs in efficiency terms to shift it. When you model those dimensions across a real neighbourhood feeder — EVs, batteries, solar and thermostats all coordinated together — you can cut peak load by 44%. Almost half. No new wires, no new substations. The headline GW number doesn't tell you that story. Shiftable energy does. Full analysis on the ev.energy blog — link in the comments. I'm curious: how are energy companies measuring VPP effectiveness in your programs across the globe - is shiftable energy on the scorecard yet, or is enrolled GW still the number that matters? https://bit.ly/4tnnGQA

Kicked off the morning at the beautiful Traeger headquarters, talking AI and innovation with local tech leaders. Thanks for Traeger, Inc. and Salt Lake City Executive Roundtable™ for hosting an impactful event. A few insights that stuck with me: - AI empowers those who want to build. If you think like a designer, AI can help you move faster with better outcomes. - Bring a hackathon mindset to your business. Make space to rethink processes, boost efficiency, and spark creativity with AI. - AI skills don’t develop by accident. Be intentional: create space to innovate and experiment. - Utah tech has an opportunity to lead. Josh Wyatt shared his hope for the Utah tech community to embrace AI now and become a hub for bold ideas and collaboration. Love seeing how local companies are jumping in and embracing change. #utahtech #embraceinnovation #boldideas

Let’s clear something up. This isn’t about “connections.” It’s not about collecting names. And it’s definitely not about shaking hands for the sake of it. A 7-figure contract doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when serious operators build real trust, make intentional introductions, and follow through. One aligned referral. One real conversation. One big outcome. That’s how growth actually works. Play Bigger Together!
