Vimal Kohli liked thisVimal Kohli liked thisI am happy to inform you that in the recently concluded international story competition by Telugu Language Cultural Association of New York and Udayini, an online literary Telugu Magazine, my story titled 'Aatmadarsham(Mirror)' has been awarded a special prize. All the prize winning stories have been published in an anthology titled 'Telugu Katha Pootota' (A Flower Garden of Telugu Stories) recently from Hyderabad, India, I feel specially happy as the other winners are all accomplished writers in Print, TV and Movies. My story deals with a self-centered and conceited IT executive who humiliates his son for getting a lower rank than his subordinate's son in an entrance examination. He then berates his executive assistant for smiling at his stupid mistake, His friend shows him the mirror about his need to think beyond himself, learn to appreciate other's successes. He advises him to expand his circle of happiness by looking at life closely by looking at himself from a distance.
