In wealth management, that matters because the constraint has never been insight; it’s coordination and review. Think of AI as a junior operator: prepping, assembling, maintaining, executing. That doesn’t replace judgment. It lets judgment compound. The question isn’t how to automate tasks. It’s how to safely delegate outcomes. The firms that scale will think in leverage. The mindset shift matters more than the tool.

DeepSeek is spreading through the Global South at the speed of free software, claiming entire regions in months. Microsoft's latest report documents DeepSeek's rapid market dominance: 56% in Belarus, 49% in Cuba, 43% in Russia, and 89% in China. This rapid expansion in just months represents a shift in geographic AI adoption outside Western controlled platforms. DeepSeek's footprint extends across Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The pattern reveals deliberate targeting of regions where Western AI infrastructure has minimal presence. The platform achieves scale through three advantages: it operates as free, open-source software; it ships as the default chatbot on Chinese devices; and developers can globally access and modify its core engine. Microsoft notes this approach "lowered the barrier for millions of users, especially in price-sensitive regions," a dynamic Western competitors, like Meta, failed to replicate. The convergence of AI's most consequential voices has begun in Washington, D.C. NVIDIA's GTC Washington, DC is now underway at the Walter E Washington Convention Center, assembling developers, researchers, industry executives, and policymakers for a three-day exploration of artificial intelligence's trajectory. The timing and location signal an increasing intersection of US AI technological innovation and government involvement with federal contracts, investment in power and chip manufacturing, and minimal regulatory oversight. Over 150 exhibitors and 50+ startups within the Inception Startup Pavilion create an ecosystem view of how generalist AI models are being deployed into specialized verticals across healthcare, finance, energy, and enterprise applications. It seems that every day, we see new ways in which AI is being used in our daily lives! I recently read an interesting article from Fox 10 about an assisted living facility in Phoenix, AZ, that uses an AI tool called “Paul” for fall detection. “Paul” starts monitoring as soon as a resident starts moving, sending a notification to the staff’s caregiver app and collecting data on any abnormal movements. Using this tech has led to a 70% decrease in falls, meaning greater safety and peace of mind for residents and their families.
