Vladimir Bikmeev posted thisThe ActiveRecord object passed as an argument to ActiveJob will store the actual state of the object when the job is executed. This means that it is usually not necessary to pass just the object ID to find it later in the job. The mechanism which allows us to work with the current object state in the job is GlobalID. Keep in mind that the job will throw an error if the passed object is destroyed.

They want AI native engineers locally, but cannot make the numbers work. Europe offers strong options. The UK is cheaper than SF, but London is highly competitive. Berlin remains one of the best balanced markets - it is affordable and has great startup talent. Barcelona keeps getting pricier while Valencia is emerging as a solid alternative. Poland and Estonia offer strong engineers, lower salaries and good quality of life. Helsinki is more expensive, but has excellent infra, flight connections and I am based there :) Romania, the Balkans and Ukraine can be more cost effective - just be realistic about tradeoffs around culture fit and and language skills. Location strategy is not about finding the cheapest engineers, but rather building a team that works for you and delivers. The concept of progressive disclosure is not new - there is already a Wikipedia page. When you first use a well-designed product, you will not be introduced to all the advanced and rarely used features immediately. A well-designed product should be easy to learn and less error prone, you are progressively disclosed with how instructions on how to use the product. Similarly, a well-built environment should progressively disclose instructions to the AI model. I explored the design space of when and how we could load instructions for AI models. You might no longer want to load all instructions upfront, and instead discover how else you can deliver instructions to AI models. https://lnkd.in/guMciiV6

While applying for a job opening on the Ciklum job portal, I came across an interesting UX issue 🐞 📌 Issue observed: The form displayed the error “The Degree field is required”, but all degree options (Bachelor, Master, PhD, etc.) were disabled and not selectable leaving no way to resolve the error. 🔧 Workaround: I deleted the existing education entry and added a new one, after which the degree options became selectable and the application could proceed. As a QA professional, this highlights how important it is to: Test edit vs create flows separately Validate UI state handling properly Ensure error messages always align with user actions Even small issues like this can impact candidate experience during something as critical as a job application. Dear QA Engineers: We Need to Talk About Performance Testing, Before the Market Ghosts You. (A love letter from a technical recruiter who has interviewed 500+ QAs and survived.) Picture this: I’m in yet another interview, Coffee in hand, Hope in my eyes, I ask the legendary question: - So do you have experience with performance testing? And suddenly the QA in front of me looks like I just asked if they can explain quantum physics using only Postman collections. Here’s the truth nobody wants to hear: If your app collapses faster than my sanity on a Monday morning whenever more than 12 users log in, nobody cares how perfect your functional tests were. Companies want, Faster systems, No production breakdowns, Stable releases during peak traffic, QAs who know how to keep things from catching fire And when they see you don’t do performance testing? The market quietly swipes left, Yes even if you’re amazing. Me, after interviewing 500 QAs: JMeter? - Not really Locust? - Heard of it? K6? - Can I Google it? LoadRunner? - is that a Marvel villain? Meanwhile the hiring manager is screaming in teams: FIND ME SOMEONE WHO WON’T LET THE SERVERS DIE ON BLACK FRIDAY Final message from your friendly, emotionally damaged recruiter Learn ONE performance testing tool, Functional testing makes things work. Performance testing makes things survive. And survival, my friends is what companies are hiring for 💅

“Which programmers earn the most in Uzbekistan?” The first time I heard this, I stopped for a moment. Not because it’s a strange question — but because developers in countries like the U.S., India, or Germany never have to ask it. Why? Because they already have the Stack Overflow Developer Survey, Glassdoor data, salary benchmarks, and huge communities that openly share insights. A junior developer in the U.S. can immediately see what a senior backend engineer earns. A beginner in India can compare salaries across tech stacks. A student in Germany knows which languages are trending before choosing what to learn. But in Uzbekistan that kind of data doesn’t exist. So developers guess. They rely on rumors. And that hurts our whole community. Last year, we decided to change that. We launched https://stateofdev.uz/ — the first large-scale survey for software developers in Uzbekistan. Created by us, for our community. And now, in our second year, we’re continuing the mission to bring real transparency to Uzbekistan’s tech industry.

React Native Interview Insight: Enhancing User Experience with Animations! 🤩 A question about UI polish: **"How do you implement smooth and engaging animations in React Native?"** **Best Practice Answer:** "For smooth, performant animations, I primarily use the **Reanimated** library (v2 or v3). It allows animations to run on the native UI thread, ensuring fluidity even during heavy JS processing. I use `useSharedValue` to create animated values, `useAnimatedStyle` to create animated styles, and `useAnimatedGestureHandler` for gesture-driven animations. This approach provides fine-grained control and excellent performance. For simpler, non-performance-critical animations, React Native's built-in `Animated` API can also be used." 🛡️ Testing is not an expense — it’s an investment. You can build the most beautiful house with premium materials, but if the foundation is weak, it will collapse. IT products are no different. Without proper QA, the product may “work,” but it won’t survive real users or real load. ✨ QA is not about bug hunting. It’s about: • preventing problems early, • ensuring usability, security, and stability, • saving both time and budget. The irony? Good testing is invisible — until it wasn’t done. ‼️Too many companies try to “save money” by hiring only juniors or relying on one QA for the whole company. In reality, they’re not saving — they’re risking their budget and their product’s reputation.

💡 Dear recruiters, if you are hiring PHP talent, please stop mentioning Zend Framework in job descriptions or interviews. ➡️ The latest major version was Zend Framework 3, released in 2016. ➡️ Zend Framework was rebranded as Laminas Project in April 2019. So unless you’re deliberately asking a trick question, referencing Zend Framework today just shows you haven’t done your homework. ✅ On the other hand, the "Zend Certified PHP Engineer" is still alive and kicking! My Switcher Journey: How 11 Years in Advertising influence on me as a QA Engineer 11 years in Client Service taught me the most crucial lesson: a product shouldn't just be functional - it must be valuable to its audience. ✨ Now, as a QA Engineer, I help products acquire the qualities needed to earn that user loyalty. QA is not about finding errors in code. It’s about defending the user experience. 🛡️ Here is how my Client Service background influences my testing every single day: 1️⃣ Role-Based Testing, Not Just Functional Testing. I don't just verify if a feature works. I check if the user's entire life scenario works. For example: Is the ordering process clear for a new user? 🛒 Will a potential customer on a mobile phone be frustrated by a long service selection process? An internal perspective: Would the worker understand the shortened checklist? Is it correspondent with their work training? 🧑🔧 2️⃣ Clear Communication and Collaboration. I brought with me the skill of translation: from "technical language" to "human language" and back. This helps me to: - Create clear and prioritized bug reports 📝 by explaining the precise business impact of a defect. - Effectively participate in meetings as the user's advocate. 🗣️ 3️⃣ The Crux: Perfection Looks Different to Different Audiences. What is ideal for one group can be completely unacceptable for another. The best QA starts with a deep understanding: Who exactly will be using this product? 🎯 This focus allows me to evaluate criticality, UX/UI, and priorities much more effectively.
