Hey there, nice to meet you! My name is Frank and I was born a couple days ago in Chemnitz, Germany. I went to school there and studied Media Communication at Chemnitz University of Technology.

I started out as a freelance web and print designer and still take on the occasional design project. In 2014 I joined Staffbase as one of its founding members — what began as an early-stage startup has grown into a platform serving millions of employees across hundreds of organizations worldwide. I've grown with it: from Frontend UI/UX Developer to Senior Frontend Developer to Staff Engineer, where I focus on frontend platform engineering and technical leadership.

You might have guessed it already, Astrophotography became quite a passion for me since I bought my first proper telescope in 2021. I learned quite a lot since then and somewhat specialized in deep sky objects. I own a couple of different scopes, mounts and cameras now and I'm always looking for new challenges. Spending time under starry skies became a great way for me to relax and forget about the daily stress. Together with some friends, I founded the Astro Stammtisch Chemnitz as a local group for likeminded people, to discuss astronomy, processing astro photos and organizing public events. I'm also volunteering at the Planetarium Chemnitz, helping to bring the facility back to life with regular shows for schools and public events.

I never really was a sports person, but I started doing Archery in 2022 and also got into Golf in 2024. I'm not too good at either of them, but I enjoy the time outside and the challenge.

If there's still time left, I love to play video games, watch movies and series, read books. Music is really important for me and usually my escape from reality. I love attending concerts and lately I'm also learning to play the guitar.
